I second that motion.
Florida, fo shizzie.
No one has a clue, people get near water and their driving instincts leave them. F#@king U - turns everywhere, which is the most dangerous maneuver on the road.
D.C. Metro area drivers.
Due to relocation, you get the worst of both worlds: the aggressive northern drivers and the southern drivers who max out at 15 mph when there are snow flurries.
I live in Virginia but every time there is someone going 50 mph in the left lane its someone from Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania drivers are the absolute worst!
As a PA resident, I have to agree. One thing that amazes me around here is the total lack of understanding of the purpose of the turn lane. The point of the turn lane is to allow you to move out of the moving lane BEFORE you slow down. For some reason, people here like to slow down to 7 mph and then move into the turn lane. Some people like to do the gradual lane change where they take a good hundred yards to get over as they slow down to a crawl. Some people just don't seem to be able to get their entire car in the turn lane at all and they'll just hang out with half their car in the travel lane as they wait for a chance to turn.
I agree:

passing lanes are for passing...
NY is bad, but predictable... you know they are going to cut you off, there is no doubt it's coming
RI is squirrelly... they fake going one way, then cut back... esp. around the I95 interchange in Provi.-- my vote FTW
Mass is bad, CT and Nj are just plain annoying

That's why I chose FL - I think the higher the concentration of folks relocated from other countries, the worse the driving. I was horrified by all the terrible driving in Miami. Having said that, DC's pretty bad too.
i'll second the DC metro area.. you have all the worst groups of drivers... soccer moms from gaithersburg driving 50 on 495... hispanic punks from pg county going 100 mph in honda civics... "commuter warrior" types that take pride in their traffic weaving skills on the way to work... lots of asian immigrants from montgomery/ howard county...
the best: oklahoma. other than the occasional aggressive redneck, you'll never find a more relaxed group of drivers... it's shocking how courteous the average oklahoma driver is... plus, the speed limit on ok highways goes up to 75 mph and then is actually enforced if people go past 80 or so... this is a much better system than setting the speed limit to 60 and letting everyone drive 75 because you don't get the few assholes that won't keep up with traffic and then impede the flow of traffic
I work for an insurance company and the worst drivers in the country are South Carolina. I didnt believe it until my brother went to college in SC. I went to visit him about 20 times and was almost killed everytime. They pull out in front off you and dont speed up, they sit through green lights, blow through stop signs, and dont know what a turn signal is. I have seen more accident occur in front of me then in anyother time and place in my life. THe South Carolina Underwriter is my friend and she even rips on the driving.
where ever there are a lot of Asians.
Most Massachusetts drivers SUCK.
On almost a daily basis, I see idiots running red lights and stop signs; drivers pulling out into traffic at incredibly stupid moments; and the best, drivers stopping in their lane to wave other cars into traffic.
Bad, bad driver here in Massachusetts.
I vote Texas, especcially Dallas and Houston.
have to agree, i live in another state and avoid illinois plates. i am guessing that this mainly applies to those in and around the chicago area.
also, want to throw in michigan and those in and around detroit.
finally, i spent some time in new york during the holidays with some "locals" ... every time there was a bad driver they said "must be from jersey" ... 90% of the the time they were correct. ha!
Utah drivers are awful; it doesn't help that there is no paint on the roads or lights for diving at night though
agree as well - there was a study with asked different racial groups to rank other racial groups on driving ability - asian drivers were identified as the worst drivers amongst all racial groups, even amongst asians!

I have been passed in central TX when I was going around 100mph. There are also random discarded cars all over the highway like MarioKart obstacles.
-Washington, D.C. (Reuters)
According to a new survey jointly conducted by the National Transportation Safety Board and the United States Department of Transportation, teenage girls of East Asian descent are statistically the worst drivers in the country, responsible for nearly 70 percent of all accidents and nearly 50 percent of all traffic violations. The five year study, which was conducted over the period of August 2003 to August 2008, was released Thursday in a 500-page report.
RI is the only state i've been to where drivers turning left have the right of way (i don't know if they do legally, but in practice it is this way). it's hard to adjust to.
I'm voting Florida.
-People who have relocated there
AND
-OLD PEOPLE everywhere
