This is a bad place to come for advice; don't let these guys discourage you; 37:30 is pretty good for a 46 year old weekend warrior. Chances are you don't do any real training, you have a demanding job, a family that you actually spend time with and a 1001 other adult responsibilities which some people don't understand.
Btw, you are way-way better than the average non-ruuning guy, and if you can drop your time by a minute or two, you might be able to place in some local races. There are guys running much faster, but most are ex competitve runners and/or guys who wrap their whole life around running. Running fast and competing is great, but at 46, being healthy, having a great life and running for pure enjoyment is better.
