Some of you may be fogetting that in the 2001 World Junior Race that Ritzenheim finished 3rd (Bronze) and Tegenkamp took 5th. Not necessarily surprising as the two are still two of USA's best distance runners, but Fernandez at 18-years is faster than Ritz and Teg. Outside of NCAA Nats, German has shown he can handle the pressure. Correct...Fernandez was 1:37 behind last years champ, but with his growth since last track season he'll most definitely close the gap. To win would be an amazing feet...and I'm not saying we'll do so, but he'll be in the mix if he's healthy.

i say he has 3% chance of winning, a 20% chance of making top 5, a 65% chance of making top 10, 85% making top 20, and a 95% chance of making top 30.
i think he will make top 10 if he doesn't injur his achiles tendon
Has Apple brainwashed you? Capitalize your "i". Do you have low self esteem?
You also misspelled achilles and injury.
going with %'s, i will roll with irun's hypothesis
23% that alan webb gets sodomized, but i cant say a % for rupps V-card
anyone with good statistical skills want to figure that out?
Does nobody capitalize i anymore?
What the shit is wrong with you people?
u heard it hear first...all u noobs will be crushed bye German Fernandez...and your gay 2
Yes and that third place was behind an invincible Bekele. That being said, I like his chances at top 3-5. He wins that race and it would be an upset for him to ever lose another collegiate race. Which, to use wejo's favorite word, would be sick.

How good were Ritzenheim and Tegenkamp when they ran in 2001? Where they the same age as GF?

he was 1:37 behind the winner. the africans arn't getting any slower and he isn't getting that much quicker
I'm not saying he is going to win. By the 97 second loss is rather irrelevant, and you are horribly wrong about him not getting much quicker. I would wager he gained half of that time between when he ran his 8k and the end of outdoor track season alone. He was not the same runner in the winter as he was when he went 834. And he's not close to the same runner today as when he went 834. The Africans aren't getting any slower? perhaps, but many of the best are moving up. Everyone who beat him is not running jrs again.
2000/2001 season: Teg beat Ritz at the USATF Juniors. Ritz was 4th at the NCAA (behind Cheboiywo, J Torres and Cragg) and 2nd at Big XII (behind Torres). Ritz redshirted indoor track that year.

Even if he wins world jr xc he'll face defeat to a student at a certain religious university in Lynchburg, Virginia. Goes by the name of Sam. You may have heard of him.
That god he won't have to run against Solomon Haile.
I ran a 3:56 mile in my dreams (I was being chased by bees).
Are Puskedra and Derrick still young enough for worlds?
Would be a sick team if they are. The best US team in a long time?
