Thanks to Wejo for the thread on Mack's history. I had never heard the story, and found it interesting, unlike so much of the economics, global warming, and broadcaster's with the biggest boobs threads that clog up this site.
THANK WEJO for the thread on Mack's history? You've got to be kidding? David Mack's robbery conviction and probable connection to BIG's murder has been discussed here in at least in 20 threads, as early as the first year that Letsrun started, about 1999 or 2000.
Drew is right, in no other sport you will find fans as ignorant about its history as our currant "fans."
And yes, Mack did show naked pictures of Flo-Jo to his teammates at Oregon. I haven't seen them but I have friends who have.
Well, even though they're typical Ivy League narcissists and fairly uneducated for college graduates, in their defense they are known to troll on the message board on their own site just to stir up controversy and get reactions out of visitors. Like you, I don't picture them as being students of the sport, more like looking to make a buck off the sport and get themselves some notice in the process.

The recent 'Wejo - founder' post about David Mack has me wondering about these guys. Fairly often now, there are posts that show utter surprise at some generally known aspect of the sport. Knowing nothing about the founders, what, if any, are their qualifications to run a running web-site? I think the last Gee-Whiz! post was about the track stadium at IUPUI and Florence Griffith Joyner's 100m record. I know there have been others and they've been called out by posters more knowledgable than me and certainly more knowledgeable than 'the founders.' Is this just a business venture for them? Say what you will about Track and Field News, but the people working over there certainly have a knowledge of the sport. Maybe not of Biblical proportions, as per their slogan, but they certainly know David Mack's resume.

Me too. But it does make me wonder---what would George Washington have run in an all-out 400? Who would win over a mile, Alexander Hamilton or Thomas Jefferson?

Idiot.
I had a teammate in college who was the national champion one season in X-C and he barely knew who he was running against, let alone the top people in other events, etc...some people, like myself, are students of the sport; read about it all the time, etc....some only run for themselves and barely follow it as a sport, (believe it or not).
Or in a shot put duel between Hamilton and Burr?

Most fans of any sport are clueless--even if they devote hundreds of hours watching, discussing, and analyzing it. I routinely encounter big NFL fans calling for reviews on plays that are unreviewable, or who have very little idea what constitutes a legal formation. Most baseball fans could only identify the team on which a small percentage of Hall-of-Famers played, and would misstate the infield fly rule quite terribly.

Wow, how long did it take to summon up the courage to post that?
The Brojos apparently have a site interesting enough for all of you to be posting on it. I don't see how knowledge of David Mack is a pre-requisite for having a website. I only know about him because I'm older and weary. I can guarantee you many running website operators do not know who he is (you think Floreani does?) and it doesn't keep them from having a decent site.

I'm a currant fan. They're especially good when sauted with chard (stems and leaves) in olive oil.

Kevin Mack,running back, Cleveland Browns.
No. I need a mile and up runner from the Ivy League in the early sixties, last name Mack.

Drew, according to wejo, Mack was "before his time".
Wejo doesnt know much about Macks running exploits, just enough to know he may have killed B.I.G.
Quite telling.
Yeah and Shoeless Joe Jackson was before my time. I still know enough about him that I wouldn't go all 'Gee Whiz' if I read an article about him.
Maybe George was refering back to me when he used 'currant. After all, I believe the first responder called me dried up. As for my contributing to the site or leaving, I try to contribute when I'm able. If a bunch of morons are worshipping at the altar of these apparent know-nothings, I'd say you're mostly looking at the wrong kind of contributions.
And for somebody to criticize another for checking out the history of a sport they like. That's hardly a loser. That's someone with a thirst for knowledge.
I guess we can expect a 'founder's' enlightening post on Chris Nelloms any week now. Who???
Use the search function.
All the Brojo's have to do is use their own search function for "David Mack" There are 10 pages of search results.

Strongly disagree. And it is the message board posters that make this site what it is, the BroJos just happened to be in the right place at the right time (TNF Media's demise) to exploit the population and the rest of the site basically sucks. Just like most of the content on Flowcrap sucks.
Shoeless Joe Jackson is a bit more of a major figure than David Mack. About 50 percent of people who are not baseball fans could still ID Shoeless Joe. About zero percent of people who are not track fans could ID Mack.

You can do better than that.
Camoo wrote:

I think 50% would recognize his name. But if you press for more information they'll say, "he was that guy in Field of Dreams".
Why do I have to do better than that? He's been the subject of a couple of major movies, there's all that "say it ain't so Joe, business," his name comes up in "should he be in the Hall of Fame" conversations all the time, etc. etc.

What, do you think Mack would be showing the pictures if there were possibly male genetalia showing in them? You should've gone with "return to index" on that one, twat.
First: genItalia.
Second: too much testosterone makes you anger quickly, doesn't it, du verdorbene Fotze.
