Please capitalize the first word of your sentences. Since you pointed out a grammar error in an earlier post, it seems appropriate to point out your own spelling/grammar misstep.

Yes, I believe asshole is acceptable, because it's not based on race, religion, or sexual orientation. Rather, it's based on merit.
Yeah, I also spelled "judgment" wrong.
Perhaps we could get back on topic here. I am a big fan of "Slumdog Millionaire," it is my favorite film of the year, but I didn't think the "Bollywood" number at the end was a particularly brilliant example of that genre.
That's a good point. The ending music was good but the dance scene just didn't seem to fit in with the rest of the movie.
It was just something lifting and light after the movie.
Slumdog Millionaire - WORST movie of the year
I really enjoyed the film. The female lead was impossibly beautiful, IMHO. I liked the dance number at the end. Feel-good change of pace at the end of a mostly feel-good movie. The kids in the beginning made BRILLIANT performances, I thought. Favourite part was when the kid had to escape the outhouse to get the guy's autograph.
I just saw the wrestler and it was one of the better movies ive seen in a while. I've never seen anything like it.
I haven't seen "The Wrestler" with Mickey Rourke but the previews made me think of "Raging Bull" with Robert De Niro.
I just saw it and thought it was really, really good. You never know what's coming next.
Couple of shortcomings for me:
1. The host of the show doesn't get any comeuppance for accusing Jamal of cheating
2. The female lead is the most beautiful woman I've seen in a long, long time; but they treat her as an object through the whole picture. First she's owned by the boys, then the "orphanage" guy, then Salim, then the mobster, then Jamal. I just think they could have done a little more with her.
Awesome flick though
My suspicion is that in that cultural milieu ...which is pretty degraded and essentially outside the law ... that's about how a girl with her humble beginnings would be treated.
It also about her losing her way in life and being accepted back despite what happened in the past.
Agreed, but that doesn't prevent her from having a personality or attitude toward her experiences that could be a compelling part of the story.
She got the part while she was still taking her first acting class ever. It was on the job training. I guarantee you that you will be seeing her in movies again. Give her time to learn her art.
Great movie, I only saw it cause Benjamin button was sold out wand I'm glad that I did.
Just saw Ben Button. I thought it was pretty good. Anyone know for a fact if they spliced in footage of him from younger days, or was that all makeup / digital editing to make him look younger.
Saw both Torino and Slumdog and the problem with both is their lead characters are unbelievable.
In Torino I simply didn't believe Eastwoods pathetic attempts to appear tough and bigoted with his growling and language. It just didnt play well.
Likewise in Slumdog while all the rest of the characters were picked locally and appeared "real" the lead actor Dev Patel is a born and bred Brit, of Indian heritage. He does a terrible job of acting "slumdog Indian". The kids who did it before him were more believable.
Both are examples of great movies that should have used more believable leads.
All Clint movies have an element of pretentiousness to them. I still enjoy them, but I always expect self-righteous message from them...
I don't think Slumdog was attempting to be authentic. It was mimicking Bollywood movies. How many Bollywood movies are authentic?
Spoiler:
*********So does the girl really love jamal or does she only follow money? I actually thought he would have given the wrong answer to the last question to test that theory, but then I guess that would have been quite pretentious.
So I didn't know that this movie was directed by David Boyle (Trainspotting, 28 days later)
So this movie isn't really Bollywood right?
