In the 2012 Olympics, they're not necessarily going to run the same easy course for the London marathon, but we know definitely that the weather won't be as forgiving in August or whenever the Olympic marathon is held as it is in April.
hence, 2:07 and 7th is unlikely.

Maybe not as forgiving as April, but more likely than not the weather will be decent for a marathon.
They both ran very well in the Olympic marathon. The pace they ran most likely produced the best outcome for both runners. Ritz lost close to a minute over each of the last two 5k segments (30k-35k, 35k-40k). Hall lost about a minute over the last 5k segment (35k-40k). Had they run a faster early pace they most likely would have slowed even more, or perhaps not finished.
Let up hope both of these runners can stay healthy and consistent with their training and they will both have big time results in the years to come.
Ritz should be able to go in the 2:07 range, and Hall...who knows how fast he will go?
Not if they were holding back through the first 15K.

Right before his 1st 2:14 NY marathon (5:07/mile), Ritz said his 5:09/mile, hilly 24-milers were conversational pace for him. I'll call BS on that all day. But that doesn't mean he's not a different runner now, and won't continue improving. I have ALWAYS said that Ritz has the talent to do everything Hall has done. I've said this since Hall's 1st marathon.
2:10 in fairly tough conditions won the bronze medal. Ritz can do this or better (however much the world improves), by 2012. The Summer Olympic Marathon is a different animal, then a rabbitted one. Even when this race went out fast, it still became a "war" of attrition to get the hardware. That's the way the Olympics always are. IMO, a 2:08 PR gives a person a medal chance.
He's got 7'39 3k...are you kidding-and hes run 8'11 2 miles what isn't a sub 13'10 possible.
