Why? I thought it was common sense that relays post significantly faster times at a given distance than a single person can. I was commenting that it was odd that the relay marathon record wasn't that much faster than the single-man marathon record.
If this were a non Olympic year I could see people getting up for this.
At first blush that's what I was thinking, that a team of five 2:09 and under guys could surely run the necessary times to bash the 2-hr "barrier." Given pretty good days for all of them.
Has anyone worked out the numbers needed? Which course? Weather?

No, no one has worked any of those 3 items.
man I feel like this is a prime business opportunity for someone. Pay the airfare for a group of 5 "B-list" kenyans and keep 50,000 while giving them 10,000 each!
