You must be new to the internet if you believe banning an IP address stops anyone but the most naive of computer users... people kind of like yourself.

I apologize for not being a computer expert . . .
I find posts correcting grammar obnoxious (especially since his post had at least two grammar errors in it). Maybe he would get the point and just stop posting if someone banned him.

But isn't your own post one of those "grammar correcting" posts, as well? It seems to me that you feel it's okay for you to do it, but not The Teacher.

Do you really not see the difference?

I disagree. I feel that if I don't use the AC in my car the terrorists have won.
What would Lydiard do? I believe he would say that it is necessary to get used to running, that is, RUNNING, in the heat...driving with the AC won't hurt you......
In an attempt to re-direct the thread, I will attempt to answer the OP's actual question.
For a 10-20min drive, it's probably better to have the windows down and get a breeze IF you'll be driving pretty steadily (so that there *will* be a breeze!). The key is that you don't want to be sweating without a chance for the sweat to evaporate.
If the drive will have a lot of start-and-stop; will be at a low speed; or, on the other hand, at a high speed (==> too much of a breeze), you're better off with the air conditioning. Just don't crank it so high that people get chilled: ten to fifteen (max) degrees cooler than the outside air is about right. (Yes, on a 100-degree day this would mean the interior temp of the vehicle would be around 85 on this 10-20min trip.)
I know Ron Clarke felt it was important to do the final stages of one's warmup under the conditions in which one would be competing, but that's the final stages--not something preliminary like driving there!
Good question, by the way. Hope this helps.
