The dark horse is Steve Sherer. Don't be surprised if he makes it.
I'm going with;
Lagat
Lomong
Webb
lagat- 3:37
manzano- 3:38
jennings- 3:38
with webb finishing fourth and making the team because jennings does not get the A.
Olympic team:
Lagat
Manzano
Lomong
Jennings 4th.
Webb 5th.
Webb
Jennings-Yes I still believe
Lagat
...Webb is just to strong, Gabe is going to run till he breaks....and Lagat is just worried about qualifying
1. Lagat-3:36.6
2. Lukezic- 3:37.8
3. Lomong- 3:38.6
4. Leo
5. Webb
6. Myers
7. Sherer
8. Jennings

I'm not feeling Webb, but I really want him in there.
Lagat 3:34
Jennings 3:35
Webb 3:35
1) Lagat.
He will not lose. I don't know how you can be a rational follower of the sport and think he will. Fast, slow, hail or shine lagat wins this every time, probably by a full second. He is the best MD runner in the world at this stage. No one has looked remotely like hanging with his kick all year.
2) Manzano
Many would argue this should be webb, but I don't think it will be a fast race. 3.37 at the quickest, and at that tempo manzano will be ready to roll hard, and frankly I don't back webb as a kicker, he can run fast but he seems to get murdered in a bunch sprint.
3) Lukezic
With all the talk around the lost boy from Sudan and webbs absent form, Lukezic appears to be quietly going about his business, he is a good racer from his college days, he knows how to get in 3.33 shape, the olympics mean alot to him, and he is fresher than Lomong. I say he nabs it.
Lagat
Manzano
Lukezic
Jennings
Webb
1. Lagat
2. Webb +0.1 sec
3. Lukezik +0.9
4. Manzano +1.0
5. Lomong +1.05
Webb is such an incredible enigma - I think he either wins or gets a very close second to Lagat. I don't see him getting third - he will never run a "Dobsonesque" race for third place and if he starts fading, he'll F-A-D-E.
With that said, Webb is such a mystery that my pick has to be:
1) Lagat
2) Manzano
3) Webb! :)
Lagat, 3:34.9
Manzano
Webb
Rankin
Lomong
Lukezic
Jennings
McClary
Sherer
Leer
Myers
Ahmed
1.Manzano-He's got the heart of a lion.
2.Webb
3.Lagat
Lagat 3:38.26
Webb 3:38.85
Lukezic 3:39.11
They go out slow the first 600, jennings tries to take over and go after the A standard, but he fades the last 300m. Lukezic kicks hard from 150 and passes myers in the last 100m.
they go out fast the first 300m-500m, go through the first 400 in under 60 jockying for position. lomong and webb will jocky around for position, but lomong will end up going out hard. lagat, manzano, and others will relax back in the pack, go through the first 400 in high 59's or 60's. webb will probably not be on an inside lane and will be in lane 2 or such for a little bit. big kickers are lagat, manzano, mcclary, jennings, lomong, rankin?, and possibly webb. webb really better be feeling the juice tomorrow 'cause he'll get spanked as lomong sprints by if he blinks for a split second. this is definitely going to be one of the most competitive u.s. 1500m mens fields in years, especialyl for an olympic trials final. doesn't get any better.
