Why is Barringer's qualifying time listed at 9:48? Isn't that about 19 second slow?

No. That was her qualifying time:

I'm shocked that Jenny got smoked so bad.
Can Barringer run 4:06?
She'll be fine. by 2012, with pro-style training, she'll be as tight and toned as Kara Goucher. Something to look forward to.
I was super impressed with Messner-Vickers and even "Hey there..."... They went out and busted there butts to try and make the team. Couldn't hold it, but went for it! Delilah only lasted a couple laps before she popped, but Messner wasn't out of it until about 200 (when she seiously popped) Galaviz was out of it after 400m! And all this talk of Barringer and Willard... Great race from Willard, to be sure. Barringer almost shot herself in the foot with that super-fast pace. How about Anderson! She's been pretty consistant. Looked great in her prelim, and really smooth tonight. Under the radar, she could have a nice career going!

THE LOL-Licopter has landed.
Well... that was exciting action last night... the race ended up developing just as I thought it would. The one thing that I didn't want to speculate about was Barringer paying the ultimate price for leading and pushing the pace and the possibility that she would fade. There was no chance that she would miss making the team, but Willard sure had the edge by running behind Barringer and waiting to pounce. Barringer should get credit from Willard as Jenny's fast pace leading the race took Willard to an American record. Anderson ran a great race. I did see her running steady as she is a 10,000 meter runner and running 9:35, but to go 9:30 was unbelievable! What we have now our three women on our Olympic team who could all make the Olympic final - that would be truly amazing!!! Go USA!!!
I love Willard. I love Anderson. Can't stand Barringer. However, Willard alone has an OUTSIDE shot at the final. Let's be real here.
Is there a video of last night's race anywhere online?
Wow - if you say you can't stand Jenny Barringer, then you don't know her. I've known her since she was 15. She is a wonderful young lady - smart, involved with her church, volunteer work in the community - all while being a superb athlete. I didn't hear her make any excuses last night after not winning like Willard did at last year's US Championships. Also, while Willard and Anderson are pro athletes training for competition, Jenny is a student at Colorado who is taking a summer school class, doing a political science internship with a Congressman and doing work with her church. It's a shame you can't stand someone like that.
