Help tell us which of these runners isn't an American citizen (31 All americans?)

When the coaches picked up numbers and timing chips on Sunday they also identified who the international runners are.

The last All American on the men's side was finisher 55, Matt Debole from Georgetown. The international runners finished 3-6-7-10-12-14-15-18-19-21-23-24-25-28-31-36-38-42-44-45-47-48-49-54

Each coach had to declare during packet pick up which athlete on their team were international athletes.

The coaches association is supposed to recognize the top 30 American finishers. That has been in effect for quite a few years. Not sure what they sent out since it confused me as well.

On the women's side the last All American was finisher 40, Katie Harrington from Stanford. The international runners finished 1-3-4-7-15-17-22-23-26-29

I have the official sheets that the coaches declared on so if there are any other questions just let me know.

Since Lomong turned pro he is now not eligible to be an All-American

That is not true, since he had not signed an agent till after the meet, otherwise his scoring would not count at all. Dont be a tool

But the frikken race was run when he wasn't a professional - that's what matters - it's his results from the race, not what you do with your life when the actual meeting is occurring. Shut up............double tool.

Give the top 50 All-American honors. It's humiliating to have a separate category for "American All-Americans," and if they don't change course people are going to have to start bringing passports to the championships.

Americans would still account for more than half of the slots.

I believe the NCAA has been doing since the dawn of time so I doubt they are going to change it.

It's time we changed our all-American teams to just the top 30 finishers for xc and the top 8 on the track. Having the extra awards for Americans makes no sense. We have way too many people getting all-American awards compared to other sports. The current system has benefited my runners but that doesn't mean I think it's right. Sure, track is a very very competitive sport because it's one of the few sports where virtually every area of the world is producing great athletes but that doesn't mean we need to dumb down the awards.

I seem to recall they used to have a cap as to how deep they'd go for AA when it came to Americans. Top 35 I think. So you had to be top 25 true Americans but also place top 35 overall in the race.
