Not sure how doc stray-gundersen is viewed by Americans, but in Europe he's famous for his hard take on drug cheats and is known as one of few "drug hunters".
Of course I guess he knows how not to be caught but unless the guy is completely morally flawed, I've got a problem seeing him giving advice to athletes how to escape drug tests.

Everyone has "moral values." It's like saying you're a fan of these guy because, "they have opinions."
It's just a question of where their moral values/opinions lay with respect to your own and those of everyone else.
Prior to going to Europe, he was "the doc" for the US Ski Team when some "interesting" things were going on. He was also involved in some "interesting" things with USATF with regards to "research" in which one person resigned on the grounds that it wasn't "research on detection - it was research on how to dope and not be caught". The US Air Force Academy denied Doc Stray-Gundersen access to student athletes because it was felt that his research crossed the lines. When "dirty little Tyler Hamilton" needed a hired gun for his legal defense, who did he turn to? Doc Stray-Gundersen of course. Now we find Doc Stay-Gundersen hanging with the likes of the Alberto Salazar who has been followed by the dark and ominous "drug cloud" throughout his athletic and coaching career. Not surprisingly, Kara Goucher spent some time in Utah with Coach Salazar, Stray-Gundersen and Ruppy - then busted out big time at the World Championships in her 3rd 10K ever, then put a spanking on Paula Radcliffe in the process of setting an American best in the half marathon - all in her first race ever over 10K
"Goucher not only ran the fastest ever half marathon by an American, but her times at 15km (47:36), 10 miles (50:59) and 20km (63:33) were also quicker than any US athlete has run before."
Rupp, while working with Al Sal and Stray-Gundersen runs a 5K PR of ~13:30 one weekend, then runs a 10K PR (27:33) the following weekend by closing with a sub 13:40 final 5k.
And Ruppy - the wonder boy who is both hypotyroid and asthmatic "does good" in "the big race".

Let me recommend a good "book" to you. It's called "conspiracy theory". It'll be like "The" Book of Mormon "or" The Tao for you.
Before you "read the book" though, I recommend you get a "rectal scan" for an "alien anal probe" for precaution. I can see you've been hanging out near you're computer a lot, that same computer that has been known to have access to the "world wide web". There have been several accounts of former figure skaters who are "well known galaxy travelers" that spent a lengthy duration of time near their computers. "They" have files at NASA that include photos of these performance enhancing alien anal probes.
It has also been "hinted at" VERY STONGLY that Alberto Salazar has a computer with access to the World Wide "Web" and that he had Dr. Stray-Gunderson custom built one for each of his athletes. There are extremely "credible" rumors in the wind that Galen was using the computer just before he ran that 10K you speak of, and also before he ran NCAA's. Rough translations of the squirrel gossip outside of the Goucher's house indicated that at about 10 AM on a daily "basis" Adam says "It's computer time!" These translations cannot not be confirmed though because the squirrels "have been reportedly" receiving nuts sponsored by the Adidas camp.
