Probably most teams have questions going into nationals:
Hogarth is a big question...here is a quote from the WSC website before regionals:
-----------------
Junior Kim Hogarth, last year’s Regional Champion and Regional Runner of the Year, will be a race-time decision due to an injury he’s almost completely healed from.
“We are being patient,” Michel said in regards to the injuries and illnesses. “Things didn’t go as planned with the injury situation.
-----------------------
I don't think Hogarth even made the trip, Is he ready to run top 5???
And what about Wagnew of ASC---he DNFed at the RMAC meet for Adams, so is he injured or did he just piss off coach Martin enough to leave him home for regionals---will he race at nationals? I doubt it either way.
---------------------
And what about Nico...rumor is that his training has been limited since the Arkansas meet. Is he going to be 100%, probably not, but he was very, very good just a month ago
--------------------
What about Sirbek of SIU...he did not race well at regionals after being runner-up at conference, with him in the top 10 SI probably beats Wayne and looks more like a top 10 team at nationals. But he did the same thing last year---a strong conference meet followed by poor regional and national races.
---------------------
And what about Stonehill---one of their top 3 has been seen hobbling around campus since the regional meet with a severely strained quad...
----------------------
The point is, it's fun to speculate, but nobody knows what is going on within the 24 teams set to race in Joplin. There will be freak injuries, sudden illnesses and just plain poor races---
