with a half decent coach and a little luck (everyone needs it), Georgetown goes top 10.
1.oregon
2.colorado
3.iona
4.wisconsin
5.arkansas (maybe utep, dont know what kind of returners they have)
SUU top 5, got a kenyan, baumgizzle and more, lose top 2 frosh's to church missions.
Iona has to be the favorite going in. Cross does not depend soley on track times. There is a strategy, a team aspect, as well as other factors that go into winning.
1. Iona (clear favorite I think)
2. Oregon (very talented on the track but does not neccecarily correlate to the cross course)
3. Colorado (always a factor despite losing 3 of their top 5)
4. LOUIVILLE thats right I said Loiusville!(watch out for these boys all young guys, my dark horse team)
check this out:
15. 458 Louisville ( 32:50 2:44:09)
==========================================================
1 39 367 Cory Thorne SO 15:50 25:38 32:10
2 66 362 Wesley Korir JR 15:37 25:29 32:32
3 83 361 Siomo Kiplagat JR 15:59 25:59 32:43
4 105 360 Micheal Eaton FR 16:09 26:12 32:58
5 165 359 Ryan Byrne SO 16:18 26:43 33:46
4. Utep (if they actually race someone during the season!)
5. Stanford
6. NC State (run well as a team, also young team but did not do so hot at nats)
7. Oklahoma St. (despite losing top runner a good team with depth)
Other schools to consider for top ten finish: Texas, William and Mary,Providence, Arkansas (although seems to be goin downhill for the program), Wash. St.,
Guys, I really think Southern Utah will be first.
upon further thought I would switch colorado and wisconsin but keep the ducks third (I think they will destroy at regionals and will be everyones number one but will blow it a little)
Also NC state could easily be in the top 15

first is a long shot. can't count on baumgizzle to be fully healthy at all. most fragile runner ever. but if he is there, you got their kenyan, baum, sheerhan, and a tight pack of guys. like i said earlier, shields and mccdonald are going on church missions but you also have guys coming back, coachs nephew is back in shape and its a deep team that is well coached. top 10 my opinion.
1. CU-will once again surprise people
2. UO- there really good but hayward=/=terre haute
3. Iona- return everyone good pack
4. Wisco-still got some horses
5. Utep-
6. arkansas
7. bama
8. w and m
9 ville'
10 ok state
11 ucla
12 portland
13 nc state
14 byu

Oregon had Scott Wall not make nats this year for them and he ran 13:57 this track season.
Rupp (13:30, 27:33)
Kiptoo (14:10, 29:00)
Mcnamara(3:41, 14:09, 29:30)
Mercado(XC all-american)
Chapa(14:07 this year)
Acosta (4 flat mile, 8:02 3k indoors)
Wall (13:57)
Klotz (14:07)
Winters (8:51 steeple)
Trujillo (14:06)
Thomas (14:07)
Slower Mercado (14:15)
And I know I'm leaving people out. Good luck beating that team; good luck making top 7.
The Lannana factor. I'll take Rupp to win the individual, as long as he's not still track racing in late July. I hope Withrow bounces back.
UTEP all the way...Kenyans will reign supreme. In years to come, they\'ll eventually take over even the sprinting events. They will rule all of the running events from the 55 to the ultra marathon. It\'s inevitable

Wisconsin is still really good. Not as great as with solinsky but they still have lots of people. They are still a sure fire top 4 team. They have a small chance of winning but they are still a force that will be hard to beat.
Eagon 13:41 and XC all american
Withrow 14:01 and XC all american
Lacy 14:07
Bethke 4:01 and 8:02
Miller 3:42 and 8:04
Wagner 14:08 and 29:06
Bolas 4:01
Gasper 4:07 and 8:12
Plus redshirts:
Peacock 14:27
Pede 14:26
Plus incoming freshman:
Evan Jager 4:07 and 8:50
Its all very well posting the positions that Iona guys ran last year but I dont think I've seen results for the majority of their top 7. Mo Khad was their only guy at Nationals. Who knows if some of their Kenyans are even still there. I think the best they will do is top 3 or so. Just dont think they will have the guys up front scoring low enough to challenge Wisconsin and Colorado.
