I won't pretend to have all the answers, but the referenced link is written by a guy who makes his living selling Endurox so you have to question his impartiality at least as much as the study funded by the milk council.
Strange that he notes the study showing chocolate milk as being small (10 participants) and then links to four studies with 8, 8, 10, and 8 participants and cites his "own experience" (1 participant). The small size of the chocolate milk study and the fact that it was funded by an interested party are legitimate criticisms, but it is the only head to head comparison of the products.
The four studies he links do not address his points 1 (superiority of whey vs casein protein), 2 (value of vitamin C and E anti-oxidants) or 4 (value of branch chain amino acids). They may be valid points, but they aren't supported by his references.
It's really funny that he offers an alternate formula for the "cost sensitive" mixed from, you got it, other stuff he sells.
