JK as a coaching genius????

Most of you people are idiots. Not geniuses in the truest sense of the wor dlike JK, but idiots in the truest sense of the world.

To the brain deficient poster who suggested that Wejo must run a WR to consider JK a good coach- the greatness of a coach is measured not by how fast overall a person can run but by how much they IMPROVE.

Give JK some Kenyans born at altitude who run 20K to school every day and if I were a betting man I would put money on those Kenyans running well under 13 minutes by their 20's.

In the same light, give JK some fat kid who cannot break 10 minutes for the mile and he could probably bring him down significantly in time in terms of running performance.

Wejo is somewhere between these two situations, obviously leaning infinitely more towards the "kenyans-with-great-genetics" side. Still, he was not born at altitude, nor did he run 20K to school every day, nor did he have the benefit of eating an unprocessed, healthy diet like the Kenyans and Ethiopians.

Still, somehow, against all logic, with the help of JK, he has run a phenomenal WORLD CLASS (read: ELITE) time of 28:06.

Far from a 1 hit wonder, he has run 5 times under 29 minutes and placed 4th in the nation TWICE (01 and 03) at 10,000 meters.

So, to the doubters; eat it, because you lose. You attack someone who works hard both in running and in maintaining a website (and probably other things as well) and you have nothing to show for it.

You are LOSERS in the truest sense of the world.

King James..just stop adding Deak to this list..he has run one notable race since JK got involved..Deak has run two races in the last year ..one against HS only comp..that was of consequence ..and that WAS IN MARCH!!!!!

he ran 8:20 in an Elite 3K at Arkansas..this is hardly a break thru ..he ran 9 flat 3200 as as oph in April of 2002

I am not saying JK is not a great coach..I believe he is..just that don't go pinning wild sccesses of Deak on him yet..

Deak also ran that 1500 that you are saying is a 4:06 mile(he has never run a 4:06 mile) he ran 4:09 indoors.at the Armory.so that is another notable pperformance..but Deak for whatever reasons raced NONE of HS's Elite this year..except for the race he and Vazquez were in..

You didn't have an off day - you got injured from your training program. No I don't think JK suddenly sucks, I think your college program sucked. But I also think it was just a matter of time before JK's training proved to be less than "genius" material.

So now you've just admitted why you started this website - to spread JK's training gospel and the motive of why you ban other coaching philosophy that contradicts JK. Without a doubt I truly believe that you are banning WCC1 based on personal motives to your coach JK as opposed to what is in the best interest for American distance running. You are definitely afraid of him to the point where you are willing to expose unsubstantiated emails that you have received that you believe identifies him as some "stalker" and even try to change your system to keep him from posting. I guess you'll do just about anything to protect JK as the world's greatest coach, won't you? Except run a bad race in your first international competition.

King James, JK has been coaching for many years, other than Weldon who has this god-like coach produced, not saying he hasn't but honestly curious about it.

King99- Not sure what race it was but perhaps someone else can confirm Deak's 4:06-4:07 mile as I am almost positiv eh ran that.

He also did 8:58 in a 3200 time trial during X-C, but his problems with the coach at Macklay cut his season a bit short.

On the contrary, JK's approach is a BIG reason for Deak's success.

First of all, no one at all called JK a "god" and that is absurd for you to say that.

Among JK's athletes: 8 years of successful HS athletes at St. Mark's in Texas (1984-1992) including Wejo and Rojo, Paul Stoneham and Ryan Deak. I am sure there are others; I heard JK mention a 4:07 college D1 miler e advises as well as various programs who call to ask him and Kyle Heffner for last minute advice or workouts.

Also, Josh Cox occasionally gets advice from JK as well.

The thing is, his program really demands a long term committment that not many are willing to give.

Look at Webb. He left UM after a year and is now running 4:06 miles under his old coach. His type is the kind that would not do well with years of high miles and aerobic work under JK.

Your post is a joke. WCC1 is a fraud claiming he is a Kenyan world class coach.

Of course, the ironic part remains that although he is arrogant enough to proclaim himself the very best running coach in the world (read: World Class Coach #1), he will not reveal his name nor his athletes.

Further, his posts about getting music to match the stride frequency of his athltes are more than a bit absurd.

In fact, I would not be surprised if all the people protesting his banning are in fact the same WCC1 posting under different names, as Wejo said he has found a way to post depsite his bannings.

I agee with everything you said, but all a person has to do is go to a public Library with internet access after their home IP is banned.

It's not about developing national class athletes. You get that by default just from having a national championship. It's about developing athletes to be competitive at highest levels of world class competition. And right now we just don't have any american coaches who can associate with that title. So I don't understand why someone is promoting a coach as the greatest in the world when he hasn't even accomplished a fraction of what other american coaches have accomplished who aren't even close to the international coaching level.

one thing to be learned here is that you dont go out promoting you coach a day before you even run......people will expect you to walk the talk or run the talk

I am not sure I will continue posting on this thread as the quality of the responses seem to be deteriorating.

For example, "whatever!" posts that many coaches are better than JK because he ahs not coached a national champion.

Still, he and the others who make this argument continue to miss the point.

It does not MATTER if JK has coached a national champion.

Tell me this; with all the remarkable records and medals of guys like El-G and Gebrselassie, are you going to tell me that their coaches are the best in the world?

Are you going to tell me that somehow their coaches telling them to do 10 400's in 57 seconds make Geb and El-G the runners they are?

Do you not agree that some athletes, regardless of whatever idiot is holding the stopwatch, will race well NO MATTER WHAT???

In the same way, you must not look at a coach based on the relationship of his athlete with the rest of the world but where the coach has taken an athlete before he took him on.

For example, if Gebrselassie was 20 years old and finishing dead last in major championships, THEN took on Kostre as his coach and instantly vaulted to #1, the case would be iron clad for Kostre being a great coach, NOT because Geb was #1 but because of his improvement.

Likewise, when Wejo was not coached by JK and did not even race in the national champs because he was not fast enough to being # 4 in the country and running 28:06, THIS shows that JK is a good coach.

As I said before, you guys who bitch and moan about this need to convince an up and coming star like Webb, Torres, Ritzenhein, or Cragg to be coached by JK.

I am sure he could take them to the top.

See, here's the problem. There are lots of coaches who have taken athletes to further heights and from lower levels. It's just that these coaches and athletes didn't go around promoting themselves over the internet on their own message board. Look at the first page now. A page long quote from wejo. How many people who actually go to this site really give a crap?

But we have some serious problems in this country if you think guys like Torres and Ritz need to change coaches because of what JK has accomplished with a few runners. You're actually a victim of censorship. It's like the kids in North Korea who are made to believe that they are living in the greatest country in the world. These kids actually believe this because they aren't exposed to what else is out there in the real world. Same with those who come to this website. All you do is read stuff about JK. But if you've read this board thoroughly you'll understand that the reason why this board was created was to promote JK as this genius coach so that dumb asses like you would buy into it.

Generally when one Pr's in a solo time trial in X-c season of all times when one does not have track speed yet, this is a good sign.

Dozens of people ask all the time about Wejo and Rojo and how their running is going. You seemingly have not noticed.

The key there to what you said was ..."promoting themselves on THEIR OWN MESSAGE BOARD..."

They started the site to spread the message of their coach.

First of all I know how good Deak is or isn't

He NEVER ran 4:o6 or 4:07 lets start with that

he DID run 4:49 for 1500 in an Open race in Florida

He also has NEVER broken 9 minutes for full two mile

He HAS run 8:20 point for 3K again in an Open race

and he ran 9 flat point 3200 at Arcadia last year which is his PR

please report factual data that is readily available to anyone..thank you

That is my point all these years of coaching genius and all you can point to is :

1) the saint marks team, which has never been anything more than a medicore private school program even at its finest.

2) Robert, who has run some decent times but nothing to warrant the genius label that WEJO has put on JK. and Rojos lack of putting togather a string of races without getting hurt.

3) Wejo, who has spent almost as much time on the injury list.

4) Stoneham, who had a good 15k several years ago and gets hurt and has to quit training about every two months. In addition Stoneham was a pretty good runner at U.T. and Adams before he got to JK.

Are those runners good? yep... is it the coaching resume of a coaching master mind?... Hardly
