Good idea - It would cure the population explosion.
Why do you hate men?

I do not hate men. In fact, I love men. I'm just saying that if men had periods, some sort of "cure" or treatment (other than a hysterectomy) would have been invented by now.

If women were capable of finding a cure for anything they would.
the truth about Deena wrote:
It wasn't cramps due to a bad meal - Deena got her period. They were menstrual cramps and had to take care of of it in a restroom. Here is the article
Big deal - Paula Radcliffe got her period on the day that she set her marathon WR in Chicago 2002.
AND even if it were cramping due to needing the toilet, Paula dealt with that in the 2005 London marathon AND set a world best time (womens only record) in that race.
Yes, it is a shame that women have neither the intelligence nor the motivation to come up with such a treatment.
She should have a good idea of when the little guy creeps his head once a month and shouldve avoided it.. she couldve skipped it with the right birth control pattern.

Isn't there some kind of pill out (advertised on TV) which cuts down on the number of periods per year? Like 2 or 3?
I saw that, was it ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY for everyone to know that it was red tide time for Deena? Cripes how about a little discretion for the woman?
How much is Deena paid per year by asics?
How much is Deena paided per year to run professionally?
Name That Restaurant wrote:
In a Flocast.com interview with Deena titled "Night Before Preparations" (video taken day before race), Deena said she was going to a "Great Italian Restaurant on famous Newberry Street" for dinner.
Given her next day stomach problems and bathroom stop, that unnamed Italian restaurant may have cost Deena $500,000. If Deena had avoided stomach problems and won Boston, she would have been tied with Prokopcuka for 1st place (50 points each) in the World Marathon Majors (1st place receiving $500,000). And the first “tie breaker” is a head-to-head competition. Only one runner can surpass that 50 point total at this weekend’s London Marathon. Berhana Adere (ETH) could advance her 30 point total to 55 points by winning London, but a 2nd place finish would give her only 45 points. And only one other runner, Geta Wami (ETH) could tie that 50 point total, but she would have also to win London to get that tie.
So if Adere does not win London, and if Kastor had won Boston, then Kastor and Prokopcuka would have been tied for 1st place (50 points each) with only one marathon left to compete in this coming fall before the 2006-2007 World Marathon Series ends (Berlin 9/30/07, Chicago 10/7/07, or NYC 11/4/07).
So Deena’s bathroom stop might have been the most expensive one in history for runners and non-runners alike.
Does anyone know the name of the Newberry Street Italian restaurant that Deena ate at Sunday night? If you do, please provide the name.
Someone reading this should call the Boston Health Dept. (or whatever it may be named) and ask for a cleanliness inspection of the kitchen. This restaurant should be widely known by us runners as a place not to eat at – especially before the Boston marathon. Surprisingly, food gets contaminated at fancy upscale restaurants almost as frequently as it does at inexpensive chain restaurants. It is far less likely a simple breakfast would have been responsible for stomach problems. The needed kitchen inspection should remove any uncertainty about what happened.
So let’s publicly identify this restaurant. Did anyone else eat at this restaurant Sunday (4/15/07) evening? Any problems? If you plan on running Boston in future years, don’t eat at any Italian restaurant on Newberry Street without knowing what happened here.
Deena, please hire your own chef and eat in your hotel room in the days leading up to big races. USATF has good reasons for bringing along its own chef to all the international competitions that Team USA participates in.
I believe the IUD or some other implant cuts down the periods to 2-3 a year.

There are forms of birth control in which the period is less frequent, however there is some break-through bleeding, like Seasonale. Also there are ones like Anya or Lybrel which skip the placebo portion of the pill and prevent menstration. I don't think they are as popular because they are new, perhaps more expensive and from by girlfriend's mouth, "I like having my period because it reasures me that I'm not pregnant.
Icarus on Appleton would be where I'd go....I think is labled New American but the wild mushroom polenta and Gorgonzola gnocchi yell nonni Italian in my mouth. You can not go wrong if you say-"Tell Chef Bill to feed me". Check out the Jazz nights.
Umm, if you exercise enough, eat a low-fat diet, and get your bodyfat % really low, your period will go away forever. Personal experience -- I started running when I was 16 and have not had a period since. I'm 22 now.
