From that link it looks like he ran his mile pb en route to his 3km PB. THose hights are self reported but I've heard he's over 6 feet. I've seen the official listed as horter. I hope he rips it up in London.
What does Vainio have to do with Kardong?Vainio was busted in '84, Montreal was '76. Finally, Vainio did not run the marathon in '76.

Uh, no...Wilt didn't run any marathons, but he was a legitimate track man at KU in the late 50's He was the Big 7 Indoor high jump champion and he ran a 48 second 440.

Karel Lismont got the Bronze in Montreal, Kardong was 4th.
That Cack Farrell chick that just finished top ten at the women's national cross meet is pretty tall. She seemed like she was about 6'3". I was surprised to see such a tall woman run so well. She's pretty cute too.
Dieter Bowman was pretty tall and he has an olympic gold.
It was Maher or Bacheler.
I deliberately "pro-rated the medal distribution in light of subsequent revelations concerning doping. And no I'm not Frank.
