I'll pass over the odd judgment call that caused you to use 'second' and 'millisecond' as your time units, in favor of pointing out that each second or millisecond (or, more importantly, tenth or hundredth of a second since those actually get counted) shaved off one's time counts for very little in a preseason-type meet in which the goal isn't a record or a world leader.
Smart efforts beat hard efforts, every time.
