First of all Smith is not the greatest thing to happen to the 800m race, as with most fresh out of college kids they are raced and seasoned well for running fast in the early summer months, plus his endurance training is paying off, so he should not have been on the relay if they did not want him, remember USATF did not pick this team( they are too worried about saving their own butts over Gatlin and the rest of Graham's bunch). this team was picked either by the athletes, the meet director, or worse the agents. The guys ran as good as they could have, I think the order was perfect. Too bad it was not an American Record, but maybe one day there wil be a chance to see it happen again, I bet it is already planned for Penn Relays next year. But that's next year we will see who is on top then and if KD is really the next great American 800m( or has a really great chemist) as well as the others. Honestly who really cares, we all know professional track is not going anywhere, and high school and college track is where all the excitment is.
