Maybe not exactly what you're looking for, but with my non-metric tape, the highest part of the heel is 3/4 of an inch, and the midsole under the medial ball-of-foot area is 1/2 inch.
RC Forefoot 10mm/ Heel 18mm
LT Forefoot 9.5/ Heel 20mm

Excellent, thanks. For comparison, what are the stats on Adistar Comp? I believe the first model (2004) was said to have a 12mm drop.
Thanks for the info. Isn't the LT a sizeable drop for a Janpanese style shoe? I thought they didn't raise the heel in their shoes. The RC also seems a lot lower to the ground than what you stated. I have a pair of Fila Racer 6 that are 18/10 and are a lot higher off of the ground than the RC and almost equal to the LT.
Are you sure that the Racer 6 is 18/10? I actually thought that it was 20/10.
Thanks for the info! The RC 18/10 measurements are a little disappointing from my perspective. The Katana are 16/9, and I wouldn't want to go higher than that. I will try to find a pair of the RC to try on, however.
I was told the Racer 6 was 18/9, but the RC 2 is way lower, so either the Racer 6 was more like 20/10, or the RC 2 is more like 18/9 or 16/8,9???
I picked up a pair of the LT 2 today and there is no way they are 20/9.5. They actually look to be the same build as the Racer 6.
Do you want to change out of the Katan Racer, or just suppliment it? Is the heel to toe ratio really 16/9? I always thought Nike shoes had more heel lift. Are these unique?
Maybe you can help me. I used to train in the Racer 6 and loved them. Now they are discontinued, I'm trying to find something new. The RC feel great, but will wear down a lot faster than the Racer 6. If the LT has such a big heel to toe drop, I don't want to go with that. Is the Katana a good replacement?
Thanks so much for your input.

I just wanted an additional shoe for occasional use. I just like to mix it up a little that way. Recently, I've been using the Free 4.0, but they are a bit thick and spongy for my taste.
Nike claims that the Katana is 16/9, and that feels accurate to me. Apparently, the designer went to great efforts to include Zoom Air in the heel, but keep the heel low. (I don't need the Zoom Air anyway.) They are build on the Asian last, but they fit my very Caucasian foot just fine. They are lower and more responsive than the Racer 6, in my opinion. The Streak XC are 16/8, but I prefer the Katana for reasons in addition to the slightly lower heel. Have you considered the Corsa Setta (the Racer 6's replacement)? As to durability, I have close to 400 miles on my first pair of Katana Racers. The lateral forefoot nubs have worn down and the forefoot midsole feels more worn down than the pair with 200 miles, but they still feel fine to me.
I ran and trained in the Adizeros last year. My problem with them, and why I switched to the Corsa Sette, is that torsion plate (piece of plastic) at the midfoot. That's about where my foot strikes the ground is, thus the plate is annoying and probably contributes little to the shoe except noise and loss of some traction. Of course, if you are a heel striker or only land on the balls of your feet, perhaps it is less of a problem.

How easy would it be to remove the midfoot plastic from the LT2?
The Corsa Setta are too cushy and mush to your feet. Killed my arches. I really like the RC 2, I just don't know how long they will last. I ran in the LT 2 today and thought the forefoot was very comfortable, but the heel was way too high and uncomfortable. Didn't someone say that the Katana's future replacement will have a higher heel? If so, I'm nervous about trying them, plus they're about $20-30 more expensive.I guess I'm stuck with the RC 2 for now, hope they at least give me 300 miles.
How does the corsa sette fit compared to the rc? I have a wide forefoot, narrow heel, high arch; rc fits great. I am also a 9.5 in rc, does the corsa sette size similarly?
Thanks!
What about the New Balance RC 550s. Low profile and simple design and sole. Anyone try them?

I believe that the poster said that Nike was going to range in the U.S. market a shoe like the Katana IV or S3, which do have higher heels but are more like a lightweight trainer. I understand that the Katana Racer 2 is on the U.S. market until December (although they are not easy to find). I pray that the Katana Racer replacement will have at least as low a heel as the current model. I will be very disappointed if the KR is replaced by one of those thicker shoes. Maybe someone with knowledge can shed some light on this. (I agree that they KR are pricy at $100, but they are the shoes that are working for me at this time.)
You would take a size 9 in the Corsa Sette.
The NB 550 are very stiff and uncomfortable, at least to me.
I just received both the adizero LT and RC. I'll try to give a little feedback as I put some miles on them.
Today I ran 11 in the LT. They feel quite light and ride low to the ground. I put most miles in the Nike Streak Vapor 4 and consider them to be of similar midsole heights. The adizero LT is more flexible in the forefoot. It feels as soft as the Vapor and softer, more flexible, and lighter than the Zoom Marathon. I would say the are close in many characteristics to the Streak XC.
For the fit, I have a 9.5 (10 in Streak XC and Vapor 4 fit me perfectly). They are certainly wider in the toebox. They might be just a smidge short on my longer foot, but I think a 10 would be too big/wide. I will use them for medium length runs, but probaly avoid long runs so my big toe doesn't rub against the end.
I'd recommend these for those who are a little wide in theforefoot. They certainly hold the arch and heel very well. The ride is smooth and light.
I've recently tried the Grid Fastwitch Speed 2, which are roomy in the toebox, but feel too thick in the midsole. The adizero LT rides lower and is also lighter and a bit more responsive. As an aside, the Fastwitch would be a great shoe for those who train in regular trainers and are leery of ultralight/low racers.
That's all for now. Let me know if you have any questions.
