Angelina Alder 4:38.25 for the mile. Wow. Closed in 65.xx and looked smooth doing it.

Angie Alder started the race too slow. Imagine what she can run if she gets her pace more even.

She might run the mile again in 2 weeks at Nike. With better pacing I think that she can run 4:36!

There are a lot of fast Alders. Do they go on family tempo runs? There is a talented Alder girls at every level.

Brooks did not invite the top athletes nationwide, was there an issue.

The girls mile field has very few great runners.

Is there a selection committee or is this just kids whose coaches push for them to be in!!!

a lot of the best are split up in the other events, Combe and Sheppard were in the 800, a few others opted for 2 mile. Also with Hoka also this weekend and the big national meets next week/weekend i'm sure some athletes decided to skip at least one of the events this weekend.

Also a few states were still completing their state meets in the last few days.

A 7th grader in the middle school race would have won. Not a good look if they are trying to promote this as an elite meet. The best high school girls milers were at the Hoka Festival if Miles.
