I didn’t make up a race. I didn’t realize his brother ran that 3:46. All I saw was the message board thread title and made the assumption that it was him. I admit I made a mistake. It doesn’t matter anyways. Cooper still has a 4:06 pb mile.
All the guys you listed are at least serviceable, but you left off all the ones who are comparatively terrible at the 15 or mile. David Rudisha, Wilson Kipketer, Yuriy Borzakovskiy, Alberto Juantorena, Knadevis Robinson, Emmanuel Korir, Keely Hodgkinson, Jarmila Kratochvilova, plenty of others. It depends on what you mean by decent. Of course Cooper can run a mile much faster than the average person, but not one fast enough for him to be considered a factor for the Olympics, WCs, or even the qualifying races. The speed orientated types are hardly ever great at the mile. Their endurance declines really quickly with distance. You should read my earlier post.
