Niwot is a "magnet" school for the best runners in the area. It would be similar if you took every runner from a strong conference of 8-10 schools and put them all on the same team.

Things are different these days.
My whole state didnt have a sub 850 guy🤣 Serious think about how nobody on Niwots would have cracked Newburry parks top 4 the one year. It was that crazy.
That being said Niwots is probably the 2nd best I have seen. I can't think of anyone else with 3 below 850. 2? Yeah. But 3 and then having a couple of 4:10 miler types with no marks is deep.
Crater, Niwot and Herriman are all more impressive to me because they did it for a longer period of time with less dependency on sets of brothers.
NP was still impressive if for no other reason to have 2 sets of bothers that good. The top 5 times were those 2 families. After them, it looks a lot more ordinary.
E) Doesn’t change the fact that version of NP is the best HS team in history.
Niwot does get some runners from nearby schools due to open enrollment but it certainly doesn’t get all the top talent. Some other schools near Niwot that have some good runners include Boulder, Fairview, Erie, and Longmont. Boulder is a top 20 National team. Those schools are all within 20 minutes of Niwot.

Eh I think Sullivan and Robbie have a pretty decent argument for being better than Aaron Sahlman when NP had both Sahlmans and both Youngs.

Worth mentioning though that Hunter Robbie is in the footprint of Boulder or Fairview, Culpepper would probably be either Monarch or Centaurus, and those are just the two I am aware of, no idea if Sullivan, Keeton, and others are actually in the Niwot area.
The open enrollment push has kinda taken the fun out of HS sports on the county/conference/regional level. It's great for getting kids in one spot to push each other, but Niwot is always going to roll everyone in Track/XC, Longmont has basketball as their main thing (I believe?), other schools have their own specialties and it leads to a bunch of blowouts. Niwot's girls and boys teams crushed the comp at the Boulder County meeting despite almost all of their top distance runners being in CA, for instance.

Same for NP in the end. Brayden Semour moved from Florida to Cali to be on that team.

I have to correct his error, because he is closer than you give him credit.
Mr Cantu ran 8:57 in 2023. Check out this Arcadia Result 16th place:

1:48, and a NXN win is tough to beat.
That was the following year. After Colin had graduated. The year the had both Sahlmans and Youngs, Aaron lost to Zane Bergen at Garmin RL and ran 8:48 at Arcadia — Niwot actually had 3 guys faster at Arcadia this year (Keaton 8:47).

Not the 1:48. Lil S was second in that 1:48, to Big S.

I don't get how my school is so bad. Our TOP 3200 guy right now is 10:46. Our top 1600 kid is 4:41. Last year we had a decent senior at 4:26/9:34... but we're just not producing like these kids in Arcadia. These guys run 30-40mpw and I assume do the same workouts as everyone else. What are these schools doing to produce these machines? Are most of the sub 9:10 and under kids running 60-70mpw? Doubles?
