What is up with you weirdos arguing about your favorite runners like you’re in 3rd grade saying “my dad would beat up your dad”?
I want to see Lutkenhaus succeed and do well as much as the next guy, but Attaoui and the rest are all just normal guys trying to do their best as well.
It just comes off as pathetic, and even though I’m sure these pros appreciate people who show genuine support, they probably wouldn’t like people to pray for the demise of others for their benefit.
You’re just angry you’ve been called out on your jealousy of a kid 🤡. Hopefully Coop recovers well and again beats the savage Attaoui and the rest in the final and crushes their hopes and dreams for all time.
If he doesn’t, at least he’s shown he’s improving so far. 😎
Lol my jealousy of a kid? When did I imply that I was jealous of him? I’m a huge fan of him; but I don’t treat professional athletes like they’re superheroes, like you pathetic dorks.
It’s losers like you that fight outside nfl stadiums or ufc arenas because you argue with other fans about who can bounce on it harder for their favorite team/fighter
Amazing race by cooper! Probably could have run 143 flat with a slightly more even pace and not letting up the last 50. Awesome.
However.... It was the perfect race for him. As he got to run without any traffic and was led out by an unintentional rabbit. That will very likely not happen in the finals.
I'm not picking him for the win because I just think it could get tactical and crowded and i'm just not sure if he is experienced enough yet to win that type of race.
Hopefully I am wrong and if I am- every 800 meter runner dreaming of being number one at some point during the next 10+ years should promptly find a new event. Because that will make it pretty clear that he is likely unbeatable in almost any type of race going forward [ if he keeps improving even a little bit as he gets older]
Lutkenhaus: Is "Poisoned" by his own 1:44.29. He arrives at the final with "Neural-Flat" legs. Attaoui: Is "Vibrantly Fresh" after a "Monastic" calibration. The Verdict: Lutkenhaus won the "Neural Shock" battle today, but he has "given the rope" to Attaoui for tomorrow.
Wtf.. looking over his shoulder.. surging to pass and get position.. shutting it down early..
KID IS FIT
No matter what happens, this has been a legendary indoor season for a HS athlete in the 800m. Even if he doesn’t even medal tomorrow it will surely be a learning experience.

Better bring in that 21.8 last 200m
Nah, if you listen to letsrun sprinting experts, that 21.8 is fake news, he can’t break 22 in a “real” 200. The good news is he will win if he can run that 22.6+ last 200….
Welcome to LetsRun—where it’s easy to sit behind a keyboard and take shots at a 17-year-old who just made the final of a major championship. Think about that for a second: he’s lining up against athletes who are up to a decade older, with far more experience and years of development as professionals.
This final feels like a huge learning opportunity more than anything else. At that level, it’s rarely just about who’s the fastest—it’s about tactics, positioning, and race execution. I wouldn’t be shocked if he doesn’t win for that reason alone, but I’ll definitely be rooting for him.
And honestly, it’s worth remembering that most of us weren’t under anything close to this kind of spotlight at 17. Maybe keep that in mind before firing off the next comment.
lol. What are you talking about? He ran a 46.3 in a double in a hs meet last year. He obviously is a low 45 400 runner. He’s a very low 21 200 runner. Need that at minimum for his 400 runner.
Do you have the Peacock app? I was able to watch the replay and fast forward to his race which was about 3 hours and 20 minutes into the morning session.
Also, was it just me or did Wyderka make a huge tactical mistake by not just staying directly behind Lutkenhaus to get 2nd and qualify? He went out to the side which gave Attaoui a straight path to beat him.

Yes, we are already spoiled.
No junior in history, other than Cooper himself, has ever run the 800m faster than he just did (1:44.29)
…and he was jogging around in this semi.
not too many front runners in that final. It will get quite crowded in the back of the pack

I don't think you can say this of the big 3 of Wanyonyi, Arop and Sedjati. Those guys are just so good. But everyone else, yes, Adding Lutkenhaus to that trio is pretty brutal. How many things do you need to go right to get a medal?

Hey, I’m not even disagreeing with you though I think 45-low is a stretch right now. I’m referring to letsrun sprinting experts like ArmstrongLivs on the other CL thread who would tell you that there’s no way he’s faster than 21.99 right now in a 200m race from blocks, fresh. I’m saying that he is and that he’s probably capable of closing an 800m in the 22.6 they think he’s worth without having run 600m ahead of it.

He without a doubt was in mid 45 shape last year at usas. When he ran that 46.3 at a hs meet on a double his pr was still 146. You put him outdoors and teach him blocks he’s without a doubt in 21.3-21.5 shape. Has to be as a speed based 800 runner to run potentially a sub 143 indoor.

Ok, but don’t tell that to LRC “sprinting experts” like ArmstrongLivs who formed an entire opinion around one useless data point from CL’s flying 21.8 at the end of his workout.
