Always someone looking to turn a post upside and spread their bitterness. This poster is being genuine and sharing their experience while asking for others experiences. Take a lap.
Knowing that I will boast on Letsrun about how all five of my kids are D1 athletes in their sport of choice and this will make me an expert on whatever the topic the thread is about.
We have a 7 month old now. He is extremely cute, and I love watching him learn new skills. I have such an appreciation now for people who have kids. Tons of work but so rewarding.

I see why people who have kids are annoyingly obsessed with them now

The last thing harambe ever is, is genuine. I’d say the chances of him actually having a child and being married are slim to none. Not to mention, he also dragged a poster through the mud for months on end when they posted about their daughter having issues while attending nursing school, incessantly harassing the individual in ugly, mean spirited ways. This dude deserves no pass, not then, not now. You reap what you sow.

lol, I know what you’re referring to and we were all upset the poster was basically telling their kid to reject quality educational opportunities because of some vaccine culture war BS.
Putting your own politics over your daughter’s success? Bad. Embarrassing. Even worse to me now that I’m a father.

Lol, I too know what you’re referring to and we were all upset an anonymous insincere poster was basically telling a father how to raise their child, and berating them for the relationship the father and daughter had, all over some vaccine culture war BS.
The ego, as a childless anonymous poster telling someone how to raise their daughter. Bad. Embarrassing. Even worse now that he’s cosplaying sincerity.

Using your daughter to score political points on an anonymous message board leaves one open to critique, lol.
Far better to just bask in the positives of parenthood - do you have a favorite memory? Or just crabby?
So many memories and thoughts. Where do I start? I'll just say it was the best time of our lives. All the highs and all the lows. Nothing like it. We're grandparents now and my son who has 2 kids told me that he wished he could spray some non toxic chemical on his kids that would keep them at their current age. Of course 6 months later he told me the same thing. Every age is special and just when you get used to what your kids are doing, they change!
And just like you can't explain being a parent to a non-parent, you can't explain being a empty nester. The quiet house is nice for a couple of weeks, then WTF happened? It was pretty difficult for the Mrs. and I and we almost got divorced. Things are fine now and have been for 10+ years, but whoa that was difficult too.

Enjoy parenting, its the adventure of a lifetime!
It’s like a different person in the crib every 4 weeks. She changes and grows so much it’s unbelievable. We are so lucky we get to see this happen. Magical doesn’t feel like hyperbole.
Im sure going to an empty nest is a massive shift. When you have a new kid it’s hard but everyone can focus on the kid. When it’s just you… seems challenging. I’m glad you’re doing well

Kids get more and more interesting as they get older. The teenage years can be frustrating at times, but then they develop into interesting and accomplished young adults with their whole lives ahead of them, and they head off to college or wherever.
But it's not just a shift. It's devastating and leaves a hole that doesn't ever get filled.
This article put it pretty well.
Eventually, the cosmologists assure us, our sun and all suns will consume their fuel, violently explode and then become cold and dark. Matter itself will evaporate into the void and the universe will become desolate for the rest of time.
This was the general drift of my thoughts as my wife and I dropped off my eldest son as a freshman at college.
