Yes, I noticed that. She had run 10:35 a year ago. But an 18 second PR from the previous year is normal. A 35 second PR in 5 weeks is anything but normal.
I don't think any sub 10 minute 3200 girl in history has ever dropped her 3200 PR that much, that rapidly.
did you watch the race? i haven't found anywhere with either a video or splits but i dont know if we can draw the conclusion that 10:17 was an all out effort for her as that race was a solo effort as well.
Based on her splits this race i dont think she knows what kind of shape she is in right now or her pacing would have been more even. Very easily could have gone out slower with the pace at the previous meet before picking it up.
No, I haven't seen a video of her 10:17 race or splits from that race either, so I'm not sure how she ran that race.
I'm just really surprised that a girl with a 10:17 3200 PR went out in a really fast 4:45 first 1600. That's on pace for a 9:30, which is something that no high school girl in history besides Jane Hedengren could run. Zang was being really aggressive.
Ohio is a very strange place. You sure this wasn't a lap short?
I just watched the video of her race on Milesplit. She ran the 3200 on a 300 meter track. She ran a 200, then 10 laps of 300. So no, it wasn't a lap short.
her tik toks are a bit sad honestly, she talks about her struggle with eating and body image issues. hopefully she gets the or continues the help she needs and doesn't become the next cain
She ran that 9:42 very comfortably. She looked like she was on cruise control, no strain at all. And she didn't even seem tired at the finish. I'm looking forward to seeing what she can do with some competition.
Yes. Seems obvious that she’s struggling and I hate to think of the pressure that success takes on her. Hoping she gets the help she needs for longevity.
