in what way are Highgate Harriers incompetent?

They Hope to run it in 2027. Would it be better for them to say its never coming back? would that make them less "incompetent"
I know nothing about Highgate Harrriers finances but there is close to zero chance this event does much better than break even.
Should they tell people they have 30 million in funding and they're going to pay record prizes to athletes even thought they don't gave the money?
.
Ok.
Fair questions.
HH's commitment should be to keep the meet going year-by-year, not announcing "postponements" then stating potential volunteer burnout or "our "Resurrection Lily hasn't bloomed yet" as dubious explanations.
No $$ for pros, last year or this? Ok, then no pro runners for the time being until sponsorships can be secured. But don't cancel the meets.
So, posing a few new questions which bear consideration:
Had Night of the 10,000 PBs grown so popular, the meet had eclipsed the capabilities of HH to manage it?
Does the Peter Principle apply here?
Does HH need new leadership?
Does HH need to turn this meet over to a different organization, one with more competence in running what has turned into a mega-event by local standards?
And no, HH is not GST. Absurd analogy.
But just tell the public what's going on, rather than resorting to CYA comments like "everyone needs a vacation" or "the flowers haven't bloomed."
