While I am a Josh Kerr hater, he is definitely a greater 1500m athlete. Look at how many times Kerr beat Hocker last year in GST and all the global championships before 2024. He is talking out of his butt though after Millrose.
Everyone knows Hocker peaks for major events and early season losses are merely part of his build-up. You are being highly disingenuous. Kerr was already established for example at the Olympics in Tokyo while Hocker was literally the new kid on the way up. We all saw how that worked out for Kerr three years later in Paris. Kerr was DQd at last year’s WCs, turned right around and won the 5k, something which the older guy, Kerr, could only dream of.
Sorry, I meant Hocker was DQD LOL. Kerr was injured but would have lost anyway.
I become less and less of a fan every time this guy opens his mouth. The high and tight haircut and the huge sunglasses (indoors?) are just too much of a try hard thing that makes it even worse. There's a difference between "having a personality" (cue those comments) and being a total D-bag.
You can be as dense as abrick and ignore the fact Kerr was making his post injury debut or not but both injury free. idk That is a GOOD race. I'd pay pay per view for this lol.
Hocker had to slow down with 100m to go when first blocked by Jakob and then when the space opened up he still had enough to get past Kerr, so there's no question who had the most in the tank that day in Paris.

Hocker was barely blocked. He had to slow down just a fraction.

Josh sounded like prime Josh in 2024 with his recent comments on The Running Effect. Basically said he doesn't think anyone can beat him and reveal new details that I didn't know about before that he was injured already going into the final at worlds last year and his coaches didn't want him to run, but he did anyways.
Hocker is olympic champion at 1500m, world champion at 5000m, and he's younger. I'll take him in a mile, by a mile.
Kerr is World Champion at 1500m, double Olympic medallist at 1500m, World Indoor Champion at 3000m, is 6-3 against Hocker, and actually faster over the Mile.
Kerr is doing what he does best: running his mouth. The sad part is, if this year follows the typical pattern, he’ll beat Hocker more than he loses to him. Cole’s 3:45 was impressive, but don’t forget he ran 7:23 last year and then looked (comparatively) terrible for the majority of the outdoor season.

He just needs the inexplicable indoors arm sleeves to complete the look.

Last year was weird. Hocker was racing a lot in competitions more than 3.5 months before the global champs and 2 months before USAs. This year, if he opens in his first big race at Pre (outside of some low-key intrasquad stuff in June) we're talking about 10 weeks before World Ultimate Champs. Instead of last year when he was racing a lot while building fitness, this year he'll just train in that span and can probably run Pre and then go to Europe to hit some Diamond Leagues in late August. So I'd expect them to race less, but if they do face off I'd think Hocker will be much more formidable in his races this year in the regular season.

Watch the video instead of relying on British newspaper reports. Whatnis undeniable is Hocker was behind and ran down Jakob and Josh. Josh was shocked was Hocker appeared on his left he began to lose form, crumbling before the awesome one known as King Cole. Kerr was left in tears by the Ponytail of Power.

Hocker is a World Champ at 5k, Olympic Champ at 1500m, and peaks well for majors, and is younger. Kerr is barely faster over a mile - and Cole’s PR is from indoors. Let’s see how the big-mouthed POM does in Championship Events over the next two years compared to Hocker. My guess is he won’t medal ever again while Cole will medal and may yet strike Gold again. Then you can prepare many more posts packed with laments and excuses.

Ironic that you are calling me disingenuous
It’s idiotic you would pretend to miss his point and his follow up. But then again, you are a …snowflake.
Oh, and Kerr is finished as a true global gold threat outdoors. Just sayin’. Because he is done. Too many fast kids are changing the game.
That's cool that he has undemonstrated racing fitness. Lots of guys say that to feel like they're worth more than they've demonstrated on paper. Cole is reigning 1500m Olympic champ and World 5000m champ and is not out here blabbing, so Kerr better bring the heat in 1-2 years to back this up.
Hocker answers the same way when somebody asks him.
Yeah but he’s doing it with lots of gold hanging around his neck.
