Race was slow and she was well positioned and looked strong and actually finished well, she just got caught off guard by an huge early kick by DeBues-Stafford. She looked strong and had more left in the tank at the end. She was disappointed with her tactics but fitness looked good.
Yes.
2:53 for leader @ 1000 so only on pace to break 8:40.
Note that Elise's M11 & former BTC teammate Lucia Stafford (GDS's younger sis) ran 8:42/3000 for 4th place -- winner 8:40 -- today in Metz.

I feel like Lucia is much less of a whiner than her sister. She doesn’t carry around that persecutorial attitude, constantly looking for something to be offended about.

I think that's harsh. I'd say she's unfiltered. Not many athletes these days have much personality, particularly on the women's side. Their social media is all pretty one size fits all. I appreciate she says what she actually thinks. Half the time I think "eh, weird" but then other times she's on the money. Wish more people stuck their neck out and said something different.
I remember she won a race down here just after Storm Uri came through and immediately donated her prize money to disaster relief and ran a fundraiser with her followers. Call it virtue signalling or whatever, but while a lot of people were dunking on Texas making jokes about the power grid and trying to score political points she put her money where her mouth was.
I like Cranny but she won't even be top 3 in America anymore in anything. She probably should move to the roads. Let's see how she does in the next 2 years on her new team
Wonder if cranny needs to change her race tactics and be the person to make a move before waiting for others to do so. It seems she usually responds to others instead of making a move herself towards the end of the race, and maybe that's the difference she needs to work on.
