15:00 5k runers with some decent strength would be elite at hyrox after a year of streth work.
But hard core crossfitters/lifters will not be that competitive after a year of aerobic work...they are just too far behind and cary too much weight.
I'm not sure of what the target was when they created the event but it seems like it came from the cross fit world but is maybe better suited to a different type of athlete than they intended.
Yeah I have a feeling your 5k time rapidly becomes the biggest pr dictator of results. Now you probably want the slightly bigger xc runner but the weights are low enough that a 5'10/160 lb dude should have plenty of strength. We are talking about wanting an extra 10lbs of muscle not 50..
