There's a difference between interviews even a half-hour after when they get to talk to coaches, teammates, process etc. TV has interviews in a more immediate sense but it's pretty much with the winning coach/player and softball questions. So, the mixed zone is unique to me.
I've been in the mixed zone. I've been there next to Jonothan Gault. It often takes some time before the athletes get called over by the meet directors. sorry if i was rude with the "duh"

Fair enough. In my experience, the winners are more like other sports. They get the TV/organizers interview, and plenty of time to think things over. But everyone else is generalyl there pretty promptly and the emotions are more raw, as is the POV on what happened.
Athletes and coaches in team sports literally get interviewed DURING the competition. Win or lose, players in those sports have reporters in their faces asking them questions in the locker room while they're trying to change.
First time I’ve heard her podcast. I think she’s a better writer than speaker. JG is a much better communicator than SLB. JG excels at both. One gets the sense she has the typical lefty bias from the way she questioned Jon about the message boards. Journalists should support free speech not try to silence it.
