That's incredible considering how much upper body muscle he has to carry for swimming. Those of us who used to make fun of triathletes just went home devastated!
Yee is an anomaly as a triathlete as he is really scrawny and never developed much of an upper body at all and he really does not look like a swimmer at all although he's efficient in the pool and I think he can swim an 18-minute 1500 meters which is class. Obviously running is his strongest event among the three events in the triathlon. Dude ran 1313 for 5K in Belgium this past summer which really amazed me. Dude looks to be about five eight one twenty pounds but I'm not sure his exact height and weight.

Alex Yee's height is 5 ft 10 in (\(178\text{\ cm}\)) and his weight is approximately 60 kg (132 lbs). Height: 5 ft 10 in (\(178\text{\ cm}\))Weight: 60 kg (approx. 132 lbs) Alex Yee -
He was extremely good as a junior in cross country running before he moved on to triathlon. Careerwise,i reckon triathlon is much better choice in the UK than long distance running. The amount of money he makes from sponsorship in triathlon is phenomenal. He would never make that sort of money in athletics. I reckon he is just having abit of fun with marathon running but he will stick with triathlon.
Are there any other marathon times available for some of the triathlon/ironman greats? I'm thinking about names like Simon Whitfield, Jan Frodeno, Alistair Brownlee, Jonathan Brownlee, Kristian Blummenfelt, Hayden Wilde, Dave Scott, Mark Allen etc. I'd love to know

If I'm not mistaken, I think I read that Yee was 1.78 (5'10) and 55kg (121lbs) (I read that a couple of years ago) That puts him at a BMI at 17.4, which is literally underweight. ("Normal weight" is defined as 18.5 to 24.9 on the BMI scale)
There was a big difference in the body type if wee look at the athletes on the podium in Tokyo 2021
If I remember correctly Blummenfelt was 1.77 (5'9.5) and 74kg (163lbs) (a BMI of 23.6) and Wilde was 1.75 (5'9) and 66kg (145lbs) (BMI of 21.6). I would maybe assume that Wilde's BMI was the most optimal out of the three (not too high or not too low), but BMI is far from everything. Different strokes for different folks.
It's a secondary concern, but is he now the fastest New Balance male marathoner? I know we like to think that the shoes are a level playing field now but you don't see many NB athletes placing high or running fast in the marathon. Other than the big two companies, Asics, Puma, and On have notably put people on the podium at the big marathons. NB has been lagging a little

I was going to ask if that's the fastest ever marathon in NB shoes? The only other high profile NB marathoner I can think of is Emily Sisson
Obviously doping (just like Hunter Bell). No one makes that kind of improvement without nefarious aid. We all know that the Brits do not have a worthwhile anti-doping program. If theirs was as strict as Kenya (it isn't) just as many would be caught doping as do Kenyans.
Why is it that Americans (the WASP kind anyway) are the only honest athletes in the world? (Shelby was railroaded). All the other countries cheat to take away scholarships and world medals from more deserving Americans.
Yee has been a professional athlete for years. Did he just start doping now? Was he clean when he won his Olympic medal and now he doped to run fast at Valencia?
His improvent is likely due to a serious focus on marathon training for the first time in his career and making adjustments after his first attempt.

Khannouchi, 2:05:38 and maybe someone else I'm not thinking of.

I think artificial intelligence has wrongly credited the winner of today's race John Korir with wearing new Balance shoes when it can be observed from the photos that he's wearing ASICS.

Undoubtedly, and now the greatest endurance athlete on the planet
be amazing when this guy starts trying 70.3/T10 races
Don't think it will be that simple. I don't think he can win against Wilde and Blummenfelt in 70.3 and Ironman right off. In most courses he will lose too much time on the bike
He is a mediocre cyclist when compared to other top triathletes. Hayden Wilde is much better at cycling than him and only slightly slower at swimming and running.
