-Broken Navicular. She couldn’t even use the arc trainer for months. Had to learn to bike. Injury took longer than expected, been running for a couple of months.
-Made coaching change for her physical and mental well being.
-She wants to run the XC championships in Tallahassee.

Only been running two months and she is already right there with Kelati and St. Pierre. She is going to be scary good by the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix on January 24. Hosting a 3000m. Should see Parker go sub-8:30.

Great interview. Forthright, light-hearted, positive, and put to rest the conspiracy theories. Hope she rallies for USAs in Portland and world cross in Tally.
Really happy to see she's targeting xc, she's always said she likes it more. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if she moved directly to the roads, even though she excels at it, track never seems to make her happy

How do you know running track makes her unhappy? I think she’s too fragile to move to the roads and trying to run HMs and marathons, could lead to depression.
She likely could beat Valby, but Hedengren could likely beat most of the U.S. Women elites anyway, so Parker is just one of several and is at least about even as of right now in terms of ability. Obviously Parker doesn’t have the raw speed Jane does, but has similar long distance strength. I was actually really impressed with Valby today. Off the couch (not literally of course) in her first race back in over 200 days and is still in the hunt for the win with 300 to go. You could see she was hurting and pushing it. Homegirl is super tough and has grit. If she can stay healthy and continue to gain back fitness, she could beat Hedengren in races over one mile, but it will be close.

Parker Valby is as mentally tough of a runner who has ever laced up spikes or flats. I don’t think the surface she races on really matters. She doesn’t have much raw foot speed, she’s kind of like Monson when Monson was healthy. You may have a point with her being too injury prone to race on the roads all the time, but as long as she doesn’t train excessively on the roads and just does a road race here and there, she is not any more likely to get injured. She has a great marathon in her future.
