Well done on asking the question. I feel like it’s a huge problem that needs to be addressed.
It should be addressed in a one on one interview. Pre-race press conferences is not the time or place for that interview.
What we are realizing more and more is that people need to get uncomfortable for change to happen.
While this puts Kiplimo in an awkward position, any uneasiness or frustration he might feel should trickle down to the people who are actually causing the issue.
And if the agent sees that journalists are pressing his athletes publicly, putting the athletes in awkward positions, hopefully it sends a message that the rest of the running community is not going to let this shyt slide.
Hopefully interactions like these will begin to nudge Kiplimo to rethink his relationship with the shady agent.
Why do you guys harass people associated with Rosa and (in the past) Salazar, but you haven't asked that question of Athing Mu or SML regarding Bobby Kersee?
Can you please name one athlete that Bobby Kersee has coached in the last 20 years that were banned or suspected of doping?
The 1980s were 40 years ago. And I’m not sure if anyone he coached then was banned either.

Just how easy do you think it is to get a "one on one" interview with guys like this? Just have a think about why that might be almost impossible/very hard to arrange. Go on, just think - you can do it.

This such b.s. You’re a reporter; you have a question, you ask it. You have a phone number, you call it. The social norms of sponsors are not your problem.
It's the ultimate "West Coast Sports Industry Sports Marketing guy look" - exactly like Grand Slam Tracks genius CEO Steve Gera. Why is it always the same look? Guy in his 50's that "lifts" every day to stay in shape, no hair - the full dome look.
This was James Gatto the adidas global sports marketing director of basketball that went to jail for bribing families into sending their kids to adidas colleges

Bob Kersee is an American track and field coach. For the UCLA Bruins, he was an assistant coach (1980–1984), head coach (1984–1993), and volunteer coach (since 1993). Athletes he coached include the late Florence Griffith Joy...

Is this an anti-doping thread? Or do you 'Reporters + Journalists' just love to keep banging on and on and on about 'Performance Enhancing Drugs' like it's still 1995?
I have no problem with a question like this given to an athlete. But then I think one has to direct something similar also to his name brother, Jakob (who too has a manager with a certain reputation; Henrik Ingebrigtsen, “likely doping”, according to leaked WADA files), to avoid a double standard…
I have no reason to claim (with my limited information) that the two mentioned athletes have done anything wrong, or their managers for that reason, but critical questions should be a part of journalism always…
But there’s more: A number of athletes could be asked critically about their progress and results, e.g extraordinary peaking skills vs doping suspicion, rapid and unexpected progress, inconsistency, +++. So why doesn’t Kerr, Hocker, Habz and Nordås (and a lot of others) get the same confronting questions?
After the race, American journalist Robert Johnson asked Kenya's Ruth Chepngetich how she'd respond to those who believe her world record time of 2:09:56 is too good to be true

The Rosas (Gabriele and Federico) have been tied to doping for years. Even as far back as the 70s for Gabriele when he was involved with professional cycling. Although I'm still trying to find confirmation, the rumors are that he left cycling for running due to increased anti-doping scrutiny.
There have now been 14 athletes managed by Rosa E Associati who have doping or whereabouts violations, and most of those were within the past 10 years or so with improvements to anti-doping. Not sure how any athlete could be comfortable with that unless they know exactly what they are getting into.
