Buddy, you're thinking too much. His quotes occurred at different time of the year. They aren't chiseled into blocks of marble.
It was only a difference of two months. That’s why I think it’s noteworthy.
It would make sense if the Citius interview was conducted at the beginning of the year. In that case, it would have been understandable if he changed his mind about preferring the 5k when he saw how well he did in the 10k at Pre. But the Citius interview occurred after Pre.
In July, after winning the 10k at Pre, Mehary told Citius he prefers running the 5k. Then, just two months later, he told LRC he wanted to run the 10k in Tokyo.
When you waste your effing life in a never ending game of gotcha you'll see gotcha under every stone you look. Let it go, Karen. Nothing noteworthy here.
We speak the truth. In fact, at Worlds, when I told Jonathan what Mehary had told me that, Prett Majithia, who was recording videos for Citius told me that Mehary had told him that earlier at one of the DLs as well.
What?
This is an all timer
I usually tell you guys to let it go. Rojos writing is a feature, not a failure. But this tautology is hard to top..... he ...could...go...all.. .the... .way.
I thought that because so many people noticed that Rojo/Gault were drinking heavily on the job that they finally wised up. But they went to generic containers recently. Theres no reason to drink out of generic containers unless you're trying to hide something from your mom, right? Or maybe I'm wrong?

LOL, you apparently don't know what a Karen is. A Karen is a woman who is demanding, entitled, and angry. I'm none of those things.
I'm not playing a game of gotcha either. I just noticed a glaring discrepancy in what Mehary told reporters. It's noteworthy because both news outlets reported on which race he wanted to run. The LRC YouTube video of his interview is even titled, "Biniam Mehary reveals Ethiopia wouldn't let him run the 10,000."
If Mehary's event preference wasn't noteworthy, neither outlet would have reported on it, and LRC wouldn't have used that title for their video.

You are seriously accusing Jon and Rojo of drinking alcohol out of generic containers while reporting the Track and Field news?

malmo, put down your beer, slowly
Why would I need to? I'm the one who has never drank on the job, exempt to entertain clients.

Am I understanding you correctly?
I didn't accuse them of anything. A year ago they used to pound down brewskys on every broadcast. The beer cans, the slurred speech and and odd gesticulations were the giveaways. Then they stopped during the winter. That was a positive thing. While Jonathan can clearly hold his drink, Rojo can't. It was a terrible presentation. It's easy to fix, just don't drink. No one is going to begrudge them if they party like rock stars after the show is over.
This last podcast I just asked the question because of the generic containers. Given their history it was an appropriate question.

Has LRC visitor and poster coach Mike Scannell given any analysis of Grant’s build up and execution at the major champs? What they mis-judged of would change?
Looks like they got a few things wrong and went backwards since Paris.
Paris he ran to medal. Tokyo looked like he also ran to ‘just’ medal.
It’s not like he risked it all on the Gold and faded. He never really got close.
A theory going around is that both Grant and Blanks complete ignored the optimal way to nail heat prep.
Grant combined heat + altitude… a big no no. Perfect recipe to be COOOKED! (look at Mills).
Blanks and Gibby just ignored the fact racing 28 min in Tokyo summer heat and humidity then having a blazing kick actually requires quite specific prep.
Agree. My only issue with Grant is he runs for a medal, not the medal. Would love to see him truly go for the win sometime. As you mentioned, they for sure got the peak wrong this year, he was really uncompetitive in either race if we are being honest. Still hoping he changes that in 2027 or 2028
