Wells beat Floyd right after the Olympics in 1980 to validate the gold medal.
To settle questions about the validity of his Olympic gold with the American boycott, "Wells accepted an invitation to take on the best USA sprinters of the day, among others, the ASV Weltklasse track meeting in Cologne in West Germany. Less than two weeks after the Moscow gold, he won the final in Koblenz in a time of 10.19s, beating Americans Stanley Floyd (10.21), Mel Lattany (10.25), Carl Lewis (10.30) and Harvey Glance (10.31).[2][6] Lattany went straight over to Wells after crossing the line to say, "For what it's worth, Allan, You're the Olympic champion and you would have been Olympic champion no matter who you ran against in Moscow."[2]"

In 1980 Wells ran his PR 10,11 he never broke 10.10,
Floyd ran a 10,07 in 80 he had a 10.03 PR, broke 10.10 a few times.
In 80 20ish sprinters ran faster than 10.11.
Winning a one and done on the circuit can't be compared to a championship meet where rounds are contested.
American Stanley Floyd number one ranked at 100m despite no Olympics, Wells at number two.
He won in 1980 at age 28 with a bad back, and it was the first time he had ever used blocks. People dismiss his win because of the slow time in the final (presumably a head wind). He ran 10.06 slowing down in the heats. How many Americans were running faster than that at sea level in 1980?
Maybe if he had switched from the long jump at an earlier age and trained with the blocks, he might have dominated from 74-80.

Talking sprinting on a site about running is spam, huh?
Yes it is, when you've been proven to be a liar over and over. Don't make pull up the old post about what you drive either. "oh I drive a truck, you got the wrong guy." BULLLLLLSHTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!! Deno so you're such a liar, I'm beginning to think the 27 Jamaicans story is BS. It was probably more like 50 Jamaicans! which means you're no rookie!!! Sheesh!!

Dude, I could just post as a 1000 different posters like you do.
I do drive a truck, don't live in California and get a kick out of this BS.
If you guys knew what was really going on, whoa~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And posting a....non running.....thread is not spam, why does this place have that option, use your head rookie,
Now to talk other things besides running on the,,,,,Running Only......option THAT is spam.
His actual best event was long jump and it baffles me that he moved away from it. Not necessarily by the WA points. But he jumped 8.25 in 2022.....
2022 8.25 would have.... won USATF Outdoor Champs
2023 8.25 would have.... won USATF Outdoor Champs
2024 8.25 would have.... won USATF Outdoor Champs 2025 8.25 would have.... won USATF Outdoor Champs
And yet here we are in this cycle of a little bit of hype at 2/4 and then he maybe gets in the relay pool for the mixed 4x4... I'm convinced someone in his circle mislead him

Why lie, slick? That's even worse being unregistered
He's a confirmed liar and wonders why gets no respect here. The first time I saw his house on Google Earth you could see his Grand Prix in the driveway, but they must have updated it since then.

Kids nowadays are always calling people liars. cant stand hearing the truth. Makes me SICK. Down here in San antonio I dont tolerate my athletes calling people liars. If you think that someone is incorrect then have a respectful conversation with them TO THEIR FACE.
