Only 4 wins in 11 tries. He's lost almost twice as much as he's won.

So much glazing for a guy with a 64% losing percentage in global outdoor championships.

Track is a weird spot in that almost all runners “lose”

Jakob had four outdoor golds and two silvers. That’s better than 99% of pro distance runners.

Also two 4ths, a 5th, and 10th which while terrible by his standards is still pretty great for the average runner.

There is no one in this era who comes close to him on track medal count

When Kerr gets silver, he medaled and should be celebrated. When Jakob gets silver, he lost and should be criticized. Some would never admit it, but the reason why they hold Jakob to an impossibly high standard is because they know deep down that he is better than their favorite, and if they held their favorite to that standard as well, they would look horrid.

Jakob hasn't done better lately. 1 win in his last 4. That's a 75% losing percentage.

Some of you seem to think injuries don’t affect performance. Without the Achilles problems, it’s likely he would have finished 1st instead of 10th, and he probably would have medaled in the 1500m as well.

Kerr fans don't call Kerr the greatest all of time. Jakob fans call Jakob the greatest of all time. That's the difference. Jakob's fans set the standard for Jakob to be held to.
