Rose city reference is comical….Mook and Rose City are significantly faster than most XC courses….sad thing is for the NW this year is that the NXR course is at the Polo Fields which is also flat fast and possibly short so it’ll probably be 14:20s to win NXR when if fact those guys are 15 flat guys on real XC courses. XC times should not dictate national rankings (course context and history is important when looking at XC times)
Yeah, it’s unfortunate, and besides the start I will certainly miss Eagle Island. I will say that at the Polo Fields last year, many watches actually recorded it long as opposed to short, and I’m sure the NXR meet director and committee will do their best to ensure it be a full 5000. As much as I will miss the “real” cross country experience provided by the previous course, it will be exciting to see how the Northwest athletes will stack up against the other regions with similar, fast paced courses, before NXN.
I was at last years race and this years race…the courses were exactly the same. The start backs up against a sand trap. It was not moved at all. The course may be short, but it’s the same short it’s always been.

The finish line was in a different spot
I agree, however, the finish "loop" took a much wider swooping turn than it did last year, it was closer to the outer boundary of the golf course. Basically, it was a more gradual turn into the finish straight this year. Last year it was a sharper turn into the homestretch. This accounts for the 40-50 meter adjustment at the finish line.

More insane cope. Why is it so hard to accept a short course?
No, it wasn’t. It was the exact same location. I watched from the exact same spot adjacent to the driving range. Took the exact some photos. There was zero difference
