Good lord it is so god dxmn annoying anytime anyone runs a 3:28 or a 3:29 and is relatively young, suddenly everyone goes 3:25???? 3:26??? Like they can just shave 2-3 whole ass seconds so easily get out of here.
As we get ready for the 1500 final (I’m writing 1 hour before 1500 final), I was talking to a journalist friend. In his mind, Laros will very soon be viewed as unbeatable in the 1500. And he thinks the best value in sports betting is getting on the 1500 as they make their debut in the first serious attempt in the 5000. If that’s true, then shouldn’t we also give him the 1500 WR? His 800 speed is way better than El G or Lagat or Jakob.
I guess even with a win tonight, the beauty/sad thing is we won’t know how Laros stacks up against Hocker in a championship 1500 until 2027.
Anyone on here watch Laros when he ran his 13:10 5000 pb in May in Nice? Was he sick? Not going all out or is that all he had (13:01 was winning time)?
Called it way too early. This makes Jakob's 5th place in the 5000m AND 4th place in the 1500m a couple of weeks after his 19th birthday in Doha 2019 even more impressive in retrospective.
With that being said, I really like Laros, and feel bad for him. I was 99% he would podium, and 95% certain he would be in the top 2. I don't know what happened, but I feel bad for the guy.

Now look at your ass. Leaving Tokyo with nothing.
Think you forgot showing up when it counts is a different skillset.

Everything Ingebrigtsen dreamed of being? Ingebrigtsen got 3 5000m golds from OC/WC. Ingebrigtsen got an olympic gold at 20 years old and two WC silvers. Laros wont achieve that in a year.
Put some respect towards Jakob. What an incredible bias it is to talk about Hocker, who have 0 1500m victories since the olympics.
