It's not going well today. Started about 5:30 am and managed to run until 8:00am. Since then he stopped for 5.5 hours already. Running 100 miles at the beginning of a transcon is never a good idea.
Signals are terrible in Yosemite. My guess is that he's not stopped, but tracker just not able to update.
Only 83.6k yesterday. Stephane is already 14.7 miles behind Kostelnick.

If he's running through Yosemite, he probably can't breathe. The air quality there is in the purple range because of smoke from a big fire nearby. Yosemite has been intolerable now for several days.
Where are you finding stats for yesterday? Tracker on the website looks frozen.

To know the distance he ran yesteeday you should wait for the the tracker to be updated when he is out of the park.

We are not waiting for anything. Last reported spot was KM marker 353.6 on his official map. This is supposed to be a "World record" attempt.
His site only has day 1 posted. No social media after day 2.
Is this just another William Goodge?
no connection no updated data.

There has to be internet connection in Yosemite NP.
From France we could say the USA looks like an underdeveloped country concerning networks.
There is no cell coverage, no internet in Yosemite. It's a dead spot.
Now approaching Lee Vining and Km 400, tracker should be updated soon.
Saw that. Now at 407k south of Mono Lake.
So, the question is, did he drive?
That's 53.4 k for today so far.
Air quality looks pretty bad according to this map. I guess the record is safe.
It's at least another 80 miles out of that red zone near Coaldale, NV
