Weirdly enough I'm actually less suspicious of her after this race. One of the telltale signs of EPO is delayed lactate buildup at fast paces, which usually prevents this kind of rig.
She said in her post race that she had not recently 'rigged' in a race, but she was coming off some tough recent workouts with basically no taper.
Actually a useful learning experience, she will be fine for Worlds.
Not that devestating. Griffith will go to worlds in the 5k given shes qualified, her second place finish at nationals in that event, and her general proven fitness. Has about zero chance at medaling in either event. Do you really think she wanted to do the double?
Griffith said after the 3k that she did want to do the double
Jessica Hull still hasn't won a 1500 or mile outside of Australia in more than 3 years. I mentioned that in a thread a few days ago.
It's another example of never giving too much credit for losing. She became a little bit overrated based on being paced in the high profile races the past couple of years. In the Paris final Hull essentially had three pacers. First was Tsegay. Then Kipyegon. And finally Welteji, who tried to stay with Kipyegon. Hull ran out of pacers and passed Welteji during the final 10 meters for silver.
When she has to run a long time without pacers, Hull looks similar to her prior form that was long established before early summer 2024.
Her problem in Tokyo is that it might not be a fast pace, with Tsegay absent. In a 3:55 race there are plenty of contenders for the minor medals.

Yeah just watched her interview. She didn't seem concerned at all, said that when she tapers she'll be ready for the final 100.
Devastating for Georgia Griffith who would go to Worlds if Hull had won.
Someone find a video clip.
I admired the hell out of the way she ran that race, about the toughest race I’ve ever seen anybody run, very Pre-like. 10 times out of 10 I would rather see somebody try to maximize their potential than sit and kick. Runners like Hiltz are afraid of the pain cave and content with moderate placing on the world stage, Hull is always going for the win. Nothing wrong with a kick and sit strategy (it often is the winning one, see Cole Hocker), but I prefer runners like Hull, Jakob and Faith who are always looking to push the envelope.
regarding prior comments about pushing hardest, I think it’s easier to give your max when running for a win/medal. Back in the pack it’s more tempting to run it in.

One of the main jobs we do at Letsrun is save track fans' time. Yes, they could seach for links/clips, etc but it takes forever.
Wow, that's commentary is horrible and the commentary team are bloated morans. I see why people complain about flotrack. Who was the central commentator? She was particularly wrong and useless.
The interview Hull gave was so brutally honest. She's very pragmatic and self effacing. No excuses but reasons. Very likeable personality and this race does not indicate any features you would expect from anyone on any form of peds.
