I can do something like 35 very strict pushups right now. Maybe 50 or so if I didn't get so low and moved my hands out a few inches.
This is the way. When I could do 15-18 strict, we tried some volume for a few weeks. The best approach was sets of 5 with little rest. Anything more accumulates too much fatigue. It's like running 300m reps instead of 200m, you'll stay way fresher with 200s.
