Pretty sad state of affairs - a guy of his caliber should not be finishing dead last in that field.
Oli Hoares washed up garbage, seems to be going for a world record of DFL (dead f*kin lasts) in a calender year.
finally been kicked off after stinking out the diamond league circuit all summer, now taking his usual position on the B tour.
is this crank stealing another Aussie vest and going to the world champs for anything this summer? questions have to be asked if hes anywhere near the team

On the bright side…it was outstanding pacemaking by Hoare through 1000m. That’s probably a 3:31 race without him. Not sure if this makes me feel better/worse about Nordas. Great close, but why did he get gapped so badly here.

I know you're trolling, but just to be clear:
- 2nd fastest Australian this year (behind Myers)
- 3rd at nationals (behind Myers and Spencer)
Myers has already been selected. The next two spots are between Thomas, Spencer and Hoare.
Based on SBs, previous championship performance and results at nationals, it seems pretty clear that one of those places should go to Hoare.
I'm gonna reveal the real secret behind Norwegian men's success all over the charts, it's not what you think.
Norway have the on average most beautiful women in the world, men from all over the World wants them, so young Norweigian men just have to try harder than anyone else from day one of puberty to bag one.

hes been last in basically every diamond league fixture this summer, the guys in awful form. of course hes going to run a plastic "quick time" given the amount of opportunities he gets. hes not getting out the heat, anyone else deserves a chance, the guys a serial loser bar a fluke commonwealth title

The amount of vitriol from hovebummer is a bit kooky, but honestly I’d be inclined to take Myers, Spencer and Thomas this year and leave Hoare at home.
Hoare was 3rd at Nationals—O.K., but that was April 12th, a full 5 months before Worlds: there are more recent results to consider.
Both Thomas and Spencer beat Hoare by over a second the last time they raced, at the London DL on July 19.
Spencer, having beaten Hoare at Nationals and the London DL, also ran faster than him at Pre and ran a solid 3:49.21 mile in Berlin on July 27. There’s no good reason not to select him over Hoare.
Thomas is a little trickier, but he’s been a hell of a lot more consistent than Hoare recently (3:32.07-3:32.35-3:32.36 in his last 3 1500s) and, aged 23, his career is still trending upward as opposed to Hoare, who seems to be in “anxiously trying to hang in there” mode.
I think if Hoare were unerringly mentally sound, he’d be fit enough to still mix it up mid-pack in most DL races, but as is we’re seeing a lot of bombs and last place finishes. The way he went from first to last in yesterday’s race bodes terribly for WC 1500 heats, where you can imagine once the real racing starts and guys start kicking past him, he’s not going to respond well.

All valid points, but I thinks it’s fair to put an asterisk on London where Hoare got tripped up with 150/200 to go. Hoare‘s run at Sir Walter was equivalent to Spencer in Berlin, where Spencer just got towed along

I didn't realize spotting him in this race would spark a major selection controversy/hate-fest on the guy. I've said many times I have a lot of sympathy (and empathy) around his situation. It doesn't take much in the sport to lose confidence and when you do get on that tilt it can be hard to correct it. Plus I think his coaching situation is awful and leaves a lot to be desired. Dude needs a fresh start asap.
However this selection situation is an interesting one, especially if you understand a little about the politics of Australian track and field which I see that you do from your handle. Because the agent of both Jude Thomas and Adam Spencer is Collis Birmingham who is basically a subsidiary of Nic Bideau who has influenced Australian team selections for the last 30 years (much to his benefit).
And for some reason the Australian selection policy is never as simple as the American one. People sometimes criticize it (the US policy) as being overly harsh (Nuguse and Hoey who have won the last two DL meets over their respective distances aren't even on the team) - but at least it's clear. The Australian team should be selected by now - Myers, Hoare, Spencer and Thomas all have the standard, but the first three at the nationals were Myers, Spencer and Hoare. Done. Simple. But it appears that there is this continuing behind the scenes "form vetting" going on to see who is going to be picked. Otherwise I don't really understand why he would be in a race like this - it feels like he's being forced into proving his form prior to some discretionary selection date. Some people reading this will know exactly what I'm talking about with respect to Bideau and the politics.

Silly you are on to something: Norwegian mums are much fitter than the average female in the world, so the babies get a head start with loads of mitochondria from day one, then everyone are in kindergardens from 12 months of, often nature based ones. Outdoor playing produce good athletes.
Calling it now: This kid is going to be the world's greatest runner in a couple of years. Have never seen anyone pass the eye test more than him. Such a smooth beautiful form.
Reminds me of Bekele with his height and wheel-like stride

Andreas Dybdahl ran convincingly in euroU20. Silver. 3:47.95, last 400 51.95. His PB is 3:42.52. He is ready for 3:36 at least, and he can't even speak Norwegian. He represents - in Norway - Sandnes. The same club as Ingebrigtsens and Nordås. His father is from Sandnes and his mother from New Zealand. He might be the Norwegian answer to Mondo Duplantis.
