Interesting results in the Rioja 1/2 Mar y'day from the SPanish elite all miles behind a couple of africans - Rios 64.56, Julio rey 67.30odd, Ziani 68, Pena 69, Cortes 70... that's a mighty collection of 2.07 guys in one race. Do you know if this is the 'control' race RFEA use to check that the Euro Champs guys are in some sort of shape for G'berg?

I´m not sure if the race was used as some sort of fitness barometer. I know they do that quite often for guys who are on teams and have them race at certain times througout the season. It has been quite hot over here as of late but that really isn´t a valid excuse for a Spaniard, more for guys like me...Perhaps they are just coming off a big block of training? It would seem to be a bit early to be running extremely fast if the Euro champs was the target.

I know I said this earlier but is anyone actually surprised by this? I mean we all know it goes on, just like in many of the pro sports. Should it bother us as the public? I mean, I went to watch the tour de France last year and thought it was incredible. I know a lot (most?) of the guys are on some kind of PED but for some reason that doesn´t seem to take anything away from the appeal of the sport for me. Does anyone else feel this way? Perhaps it´s because I think that it is a level playing field as they are all doing it? I do know that drugs have been a part of the tour de France since it´s early inception. I am going to watch again this year and really looking forward to it...

He's probablly equally as drugged up, not way more just because he wins. I have an extremely smart friend, (scientist/med student/Stanford Researcher) who said something about all tour de france athletes tetering on the highest allowable hematocrit levels. I think he said it was 55? Either way, he described the set levels were placed by the tour to protect the occasional freaks with a high hematocrit level, yet all of these guys are ranking high?
The clean athletes are the exception. It's sad.

Whether or not Lance is clean aside, yours is an argument people love to toss out that is just plain wrong. There is ABSOLUTELY NO connection between testicular cancer and anabolic steroid use. None whatsoever. If anything, steroids would cause testicular atrophy. Maybe Lance was juicing and maybe he wasn't, but his cancer had absolutely nothing to do with it.
