try having two different surgeries to dig out veruca warts on your feet after picking them up at the gym for walking barefoot. That’s what I got for not using shower shoes.
How do you know you picked it because of walking barefoot at the gym?
My boyfriend said he picked herpes for not using "shower underpants" at the gym, shall I believe him?

he picked it up from rarely walking barefoot in the first place, otherwise the skin is too thick, covered with calluses. In the unlikely event a wart forms on a callus, you can just cut it off, a callus is dead skin.
bad warts are a sign of immune deficiency.
now to really stir up the downvotes with a brutal truth: this is a "thing" in the United States because American wear shoes everywhere, even indoors; and bare feet on females is highly sexualized, so that males tend to be self-conscious about going shoeless, outside of a few exceptions where it's expected of them, i.e. beach, swimming, MMA

As somebody who has done years of time working with the military in shared shower situations I can tell you that you absolutely must wear shower shoes. I have never gotten any kind of athlete's foot when wearing shower shoes, but have on several occasions immediately gotten it the one day I didn't wear them. This usually happens on the way out of a deployment where you stopover somewhere and decided to do a workout while waiting for your next flight and forgot that you threw away your shower shoes when you left. I specifically recall leaving Iraq where I was showering in those nasty shower pods every day without a problem, then getting held up on the way out in Kuwait, so I did a treadmill run and then showered without shower shoes and my feet were itchy within an hour or two of leaving the shower.
When I use shower shoes, I always rinse them off and then set them upright to dry off. Most of the places that I work are arid deserts, so the shoes are always dry the next time I shower. Maybe it would be different in a humid climate, but I doubt it.
boot feet are itchy feet. Take your damn boots off, socks too. Forget the sandals, keep your feet dry and you will NEVER have any problems.
Ask some old Vietnam guys about their rotten feet from slogging around the jungle in their wet boots. You cannot keep your feet dry in boots, period, not even in Iraq or Kuwait. You surely know already you sweat profusely in the desert, and that includes your feet - but it doesn't evaporate from inside boots, it just stays there and rots.

I don't wear boots, I'm a contractor. I always keep my feet dry. I can't stand to have sweaty feet.

100% false. Callus are calluses. Warts are a virus that go down to basement membrane. If you can "pick" it off, it was not a wart or it was a wart and died. When a wart is actually removed surgically you should have a hole at east 2-3 mm deep and require wound care for 2 weeks. I have removed 3 warts surgically in 25 years, they go away with enough conservative treatment. If a runner, don't ever get a wart surgically removed, it may leave a scar that ends up with a lot callus or discomfort. You get viruses from contact. Not wearing sandals in public shower is fine, but it's a ton of exposure. Up to you.
Now if we can get naked guy to stop walking around without a towel. Naked only in front of your own locker or shower, not while shaving and walking around starting conversations.

Same for me. I had never heard of "shower shoes" before. Must be an American thing.
Just like Dentists are an 'American thing'....
Good luck being gross!
Indeed, dentists are such an "American thing" that the English language borrowed the French word for it.
The cultural illiteracy of some American people will never cease to amaze me. Google "Pierre Fauchard" if you want to learn where modern dentistry comes from.
No one puts shower shoes “in the same bag” as anything else, that I’ve ever seen. But I do see a lot of slobs walking around barefoot who think standing on a dirty towel and a once a week use of foot fungus cream will stop themselevs from getting foot root and spreading foot root.
stepping on a fungus is not what starts a fungus growing on your feet.
What starts a fungus growing is wearing shoes all the time, trapping the sweat and giving the fungus a nice moist environment to grow.
As for these sandals, nothing stops the shower water from splashing up off the floor onto your feet. Using them is delusional, just to make you feel better about your fungus cooties.
gyms and hockey rooms are often stink of microbes including fungus.
at night time they should have UV lighting and that will exterminate the problem.
your shoes are microbr incubators. you can put peppermint oil on the insole and keep it from growing athletes foot fungus.
and wash the shoes insole.
you want to go to a tanning saloon if you havent seen the sun for 3 months.
what is worse is picking up staph infection
ozone and or UV will wipe out the problem completely, affordably, environmentally friendly.
these techniques are used in aqua farming , poultry, etc.
why this tech is not used as a standard , reflects only mass stupidity.
