I don't think Bednarek could give two sh-ts about Lyles looking across at him at the finish. But to then to ever so imperceptibly slow down as you cross in front of him while chirping at him - he got in Bednareks space while they were still moving. I mean if Bednarek doesn't push him he clatters right into the back of him and they probably both eat the track.

Hey, we can make up all sort of scenarios if we want to. Watch the replay. They had slowed way down. Kenny could have easily avoided lyles. He didn't because he was pissed off about being beaten and stared down.. Sure, maybe he also felt crowded by Lyles. So because of all of that. he lashed out with a shove.

Standing your ground doesn’t constitute committing assault against a competitor (shoving is assault).
Assault requires a reasonable apprehension of immediate physical harm. This does not really constitute assault, although shoving in another context might (and would include battery, which requires actual physical contact which assault does not).
Lyles cut him off right after the finish line instead of running straight on like everyone else. I would have be pissed if that happened to me (beside his juvenile stare down).
