Since this thing went pear-shaped Johnson has been smashed on here by everybody.
I hope it works out and people get paid but I have my doubts like the rest of you.
What I don't like about the GST threads here is the "I told you so" from all the posters.
You're all so clever but I don't see any of you offering a solution.
Does anybody have any idea how to make this GST profitable?
Zuckerberg is a 5k runner and Facebook or somebody sponsoring this for $30 million a year would get this thing going.
Come on guys, brojos included, offer some positive suggestions where funding could come from.
GST is a game changing concept, maybe Johnson just needs to be the frontman and a real business behind it all.
Remember, if this works, it's the athletes that benefit.
I think people offered lots of suggestions - the most common having been not to start a track league like he was doing. I don't think GST failing is going to be as a disaster long term as some of the pundits and GST athletes say it will be. Fisher said something to the effect that it would hurt the sport longer term because athletes will less likely to sign up for similar leagues in the future. Well that's not a bad thing - similar leagues would likely fail similarly. Lyles wanted to see a good tv contract before signing up - he made the right decision.
Nah man. The attraction of this thing was that the ATHLETES GET PAID GOOD MONEY.
This was well meant with the wrong man running the thing. This is a great idea, just needs the right person/company to run the show.
Stupid idea and businesses are not supported by investors. This was a complete farce from the start. I watched like less than a minute. Everyone thinks they start a business until the bill comes due.
