I've heard Dr. Vigil speak many times, actually shared lunch with him and Jack Daniels about a decade ago. The stories alone were a huge insight into coaching. The last time I heard him talk was at an LA84 clinic - didn't care about the time slots or anything, and neither did the organizing committee. His stories about his athletes and situations were far more informative than the science he presented, it was the application of that and just knowing how to coach that has so valuable. And I never met him in a situation where he wasn't willing to answer a question and deal with my follow up questions.
The sport is better because of his immense contributions.
