-This was a real chance for Nordas to return to form after a lot of time to dig into training, but he increasingly looks like a European B-teamer like he was before 2023, just now in the 1500.
-Mills and Farken are always in falls, no surprises there
-Sorry, Olli has to be demoted from the DL
- I know the frenzy is over Koech, but a 13.4 last 100 is just OK to me…it seemed more to me like Kerr’s finish was missing after an honest pace for now
Allow me to explain the frenzy. Three months ago, Koech was soundly beaten by a 5k runner in a road mile. Today he took down the World 1500m Champion in a 3:28 race.
Very sad to see that Koech is blamed for doping because of Chepngetich. Chepngetich literally took 1.5% off WR. In 1500m 1.5 % improvement would mean running 3:22.76.
Chill out: The guy is in 3:27 shape - that isn't otherworldly stuff where someone is clearly doping. Even Habz ran 3:27
You haven't seen the threads about Habz.
Kenyan distance running has lost all credibility with the Chepngetich bust. The next big name will come, like clockwork.
everyone at the top uses it. It is hypocritical to single out Kenya.

he's literally a kid at that age. Kids improve much more rapidly than people in their 20s/30s.
Are you or Gault going to ask him in the press conference what he says to those who think his sudden rise is too good to be true? You should! It's not as if the Kenyan parliament are so shameless that they would publicly criticize you again. Or maybe they are...

calling it now. Koech will win the WC and then break the WR next year. He will go down as the GOAT along with El G. Jakob is past tense.
Slightly OT, but the way Koech pushed his way through on the inside with (was it) 250 to go should be reviewed for possible DQ, not only did it look like he was borderline using his arms on the runner he needed to pass, that runner's rhythm/cadence was clearly affected and he was one of those that fell shortly after. Runners have been DQed for less methinks.

You mean a 5k runner who sniped him in the last 100 and ran 12:44 to win a DL. Seems like Nico Young deserves some respect.

the scary thing is that lad clearly is inexperienced in racing the 1500m and he just demolished a world champion like that. Either he's the Kiptum of the 1500m, or he will be another Ruth pretty soon.

Kerr, like Hocker, never performs well in diamond leagues. Whether they are a WC or Olympic Champion has no bearing on how they will perform in a diamond league. They simply suck in these meets.

I've not noticed Farken falling before, but Mills is constantly involved in barging or falls. He's a messy racer.
I agree on Hoare. I don't think this level of competition is helping him at all. He's getting hammered every time. He could do with stepping down a level and winning a few races for confidence. There's no shame in running gold and silver label meets.
I'd also agree on Kerr. I wondered how he would go in a fast race after only running GST this year. 3:29 is solid. Just about where he was going into Worlds in 2023 so I think he'll be fine in Tokyo, but the competition is deeper now. I'd like to see him in one more fast race before that but I don't think he'll travel back for Silesia which would be ideal.
Koech, I'm hoping, is just a phenom because the alternative isn't good for the sport. But 3:27 at 18? Damn

thing is, Kerr didn't really suck in this meet. It's a 3:29 low. Actually it's his second best time. Even in his WC win, it's 3:29.38.

Dude, if you are going to talk about times, then talk about times. If you are going to talk about placing and winning in these races, then stay on the topic. Stop with all these red herrings.

just watched the highlight, he's even showboating in the last 10m. wtf....lol

Supposedly, the fall affected a bunch more who were able manage to keep running. Olli said he kicked Farken in the head with his knee while avoiding the chaos, and lost his momentum. I wish we had better footage of the fall and those behind it getting affected.
Ollie Hoare dead last again (not counting runners who fell) is it physical or mental or a combination of both?
He says he felt great and was winding up, but was affected by the fall. He kneed Farken in the head while managing to avoid falling himself... he said he lost momentum...FWIW
We just gonna take this as fact? I'm the biggest cynic of that performance but from my understanding there's no connection between Liliot (Koech's agent) and Rosa (Kiprop's agent). Please correct me if I'm wrong.
